Hi steemians,
I welcome you to yet another wonderful day in my life. It is a day well spent and that is the reason why I'm sharing this diary with you all. I have been in Nasarawa state Nigeria for about a year and a few months now. The truth is that I'm a very reserved person and for that reason, I have only a few friends.
I welcome you to yet another wonderful day in my life. It is a day well spent and that is the reason why I'm sharing this diary with you all. I have been in Nasarawa state Nigeria for about a year and a few months now. The truth is that I'm a very reserved person and for that reason, I have only a few friends.
Due to this fact, I find it difficult to go out of my home or even associate with the people around me as they carry out their daily activities. But after much thought today, I decided to learn a bit about the culture of the people because it will be completely unfair in my path if I leave this place without any tangible information about the people.
Given this, I decided to step out today to experience one of the celebrations that the people here carry so highly and this celebration is called marriage (Wake) as it is traditionally called in Eggon culture. The overview and the details of how the wedding process is carried out will be a post on another day because it is a large process and it will interest you all to learn about the Eggon tradition as well.
As of today, the few things I will want us to know about my day are that I was present at the place where the woman who happens to be the bride was the person to slaughter the pig and for the very first I saw how she perfectly butcher the pig into pieces.
After everything, the wedding was scheduled to start at about 3:00 p.m, the story of how the wedding was carried out is something I will discuss in detail in another post of mine that will be coming up shortly. Indeed Eggon culture is one of its kind and I must confess it will be great if I share it with you all.
The rest of my day was at the wedding venue and I was able to take a lot of pictures at the venue which I will also share in my next post because I don't want to repeat images. Finally, I want to invite a few friends to also read through my diary today. I call on @stef1, @jyoti-thelight, @graceleon, @karianaporras and @malikusman1 to also read through my blog today.
Thank you, friend!

I can't wait to read more on your next post which concern my people though not my immediate village as our traditional marriage differs from clan to clan and family to family.
