Smiles are powerful

Do you even agree with the statements above? Well maybe if you don't, you might have good reasons to, however I'd just briefly journey back to personal experiences where the above statement has and will always prove true.
Few days ago, a friend of mine was emotionally troubled. I could sense the bitterness in his voice while expressing how hurt he was by some supposedly good friends. I just needed to make him feel better. So opted for a video call, guess what, after giving a little encouragement and friendly advice. His parting words were "I am relieved, your smiles alone were like cold ice in very sunny weather, thanks for the concern,I won't forget this."
While in college, a group of strangers once approached me and said, "we have been keenly observing you for some really long period of time, we just want to ask, don't you have any problems at all? You are always wearing a smile and trust us, we have really been encouraged by your facial appearance, please never let that smile wear off."
Recently at my workplace, a client wasn't so satisfied with a particular service rendered (individual differences apply), and very normally, he reacted in a not very pleasing way. I observed the situation and didn't want it to escalate more, so I quietly walked up to her. In a very calm tone, I said "please ma'am can I have a word with you?".
She agreed and we shifted some few meters, I humbly explained things to her. After our very fruitful conversation, she said "Pharm, you know you have an endearing smile, at the start of our conversation, it was the only thing that got me to listen to you, thank you for restraining me from overreacting".
In another occasion, a client needed a refill of medication and unfortunately his medicines weren't available at the time he came. Frustrated he was, he asked for some compensation for his "futile journey", I jokingly said, "I've been compensating you with a smile". As funny as that sounded, do you know what the client said?😂
"For real, your facial smiles are soothing, I was furious when I couldn't find what I needed, but then I looked at you and realized life isn't supposed to be bitter all the time, thanks for always wearing that smile, you don't know who you are uplifting ".
There was a time I walked on the street, a young lady smiled so much at me and waved, I just couldn't help it, but unconsciously reciprocated the gesture. Few weeks later, the lady was among a screening panel who were going to screen me. As soon as she saw me, she recounted "the ever smiling girl" 😂 that should tell you my screening automatically went as very smoothly as possible, I never even expected it to.
These experiences and many more are living proof of the power of smiles. Countless occasions I've been gifted just for always wearing a smile. Clients usually feel relaxed and ready to err out their problems freely because of the conducive mental environment I present by always wearing a happy look.
If you have in one way or another helped, knowingly or unknowingly imparted someone with a smile, please share your beautiful experience in the comment section, I'd really love to read about it.
However please, you need to be careful while wearing a smile. Have in mind that not all situations warrant a friendly smile.
📌There might be situations where you need to be strict and firm.
📌There might be situations where you need to say NO or WAIT A SECOND with a very firm and non compromised tone.
📌There might be situations where a greater level of seriousness is required and smiles might not exactly work for it.
📌So please, be discerning enough to figure out the right moment and right time. You don't want to carry out a good deed at the wrong moment.
Let's keep making the world a friendly atmosphere, our neighbors are all we've got, look out for and maintain good relationships with wearing a smile you can help someone without even knowing.
Thanks for reading!!!
