The Diary Game ||03 February 2024|| A day at Meradia Hut with my friend Sean.

My friend Shawon's father-in-law is very ill. A few days ago, he was admitted to the hospital for severe heart disease. 2/3 days ago, he was discharged from the hospital and came home. When he came home, he (Shawn's father-in-law) desired to eat pigeon meat. Shawn called and asked me to go with him to the Meradia Haat to buy pigeons. I couldn't refuse his proposal and agreed to go with him.

In rural areas, weekly Haats are common. But it is merely surprising in the capital city. "Meradia Haat" is the name of this type of market located in the center of Dhaka city. The Haat takes place every Wednesday. Shoppers come from far and wide to this Haat.

Different types of fresh Fish and green vegetables are strewn about in vacant spots on both sides of the road. The farmers in the area brought their goods on their heads. Some bring fruits, some veggies, some goats, some hens, some ducks, and some fresh milk from their cows, and many more. Overall, Banasree's Meradia Hat resembles a one-day gathering.

A large variety of winter vegetables have emerged in the Haat, as was evident on the ground last Wednesday. On boats, multiple types of fruit have arrived at the market. Certain people have brought cow's milk, while others are selling Jaggery, Pitha, Muri (puffed rice), Chicken, and Borshi (Hook for caching Fish), along with Fishing Polos (trap for Fish). There are several kinds of sweets in addition to this.

In front of the clothes shops on this walk, the crowd is the most, especially for women. And the boundaries of the cloth market are widening. Here, the big markets of different areas of Dhaka city and the sidewalk shopkeepers come to sell clothes.
There has been a display of numerous vegetable shops on the West side of the road. The road's northern side is home to the fish market, where shops display tasteful fishes that are captured from various Water bodies like ponds, drains, canals, rivers, etc. Most of the customers coming to Meradia Hut are women. Numerous individuals from multiple locations surrounding Banasree have visited the Haatbar market (on the day of the market resume).
