Hello to everyone in this great community. How are we all doing today? I want to believe that everyone is in perfect condition. Today I will be participating in the on going contest that has been scheduled by the steemit team and as such, I will be dropping my entry regarding to the topic given by this community titled IF ONLY.
This is a wonderful poetry topic that has been brought up by the community heads and as such, I will be dropping my entry regarding the topic. So I urge us all to relax and sit tight as I drop my entry.
Life has a way of treating us. Sometimes it turns out of control, not working in our favor, making all our efforts seems not worth it. It always leace us to wonder if only we can turn back the hand of time to the golden years.
Was a child, yet to become a man, was yet to know the issues of life, I was yet to have my sixth sense when life took the precious man who sat and watch my infant head, who always look at me and gives me hope, who always make me feel that tomorow will be better than today, if only my dad was still alive.
If only I was given a second chance to feel the warm embrace of a father who cares and fend for his children, If only I could spend some time with him so as to learn the basics of life, If only he was still here to guide me on the right path to follow.
If only I had someone that came through for me when I was helpless, I was hungry and no pne to feed me, I needed shelter and there was no one to put a roof under my head. If only I had just a person to cloth me when I needed to cover my self from regret.
We look so calm when walking on the way but deep down us we need someone to talk to, deep down us we want to voice out, right inside us we need someone to look up to so that we don't crumble. If only we had someone to hear our heart cries.
She was chastised, molested and without a voice to speak up for her, she accepted her fate. She began to live her life aimless like a flag on a pole and every breeze that comes will blow her and soon she was brought to rag. If only there was an ear to listen to her predicament.
He had a bright future, the sun was worm on his shoulders, he could hear the voice of victory sounding so calmly from afar and in his final year, he was been kicked out of the university because there was no money to pay for his tuition fee and that was how the bright light became deem. If only he had someone to look up to.
The world is falling about, people now careless of eachother. The harmony and love has faded away and everyone is now for himself. Selfishness and greed has engulfed the heart of the men, the youth's heart are been poison and the women laments so bitterly for the future of their offspring. If only there there was someone to mend the broken walls.
Trust is now a big issue, no one wants to be another's brother keeper. Secrecy and back-biting is now the order of the day. Everyone is afraid of been stabbed at the back all because of lack of trust for one another. If only we can forgive and forget the past in other to come together as one again.
If only the head has not been cut-off, we could have shown mercy. If onlythe young man had a sponsor, he could have been a great inventor, If only the ladies cry was head, she could have been a decent mother. If only we can work together as a team, this platform will be great more than it is currently.
This word If only can either be used in statement of regrets and future possibilities, but then, I believe that if only we can join hands to work as not just a team, but a family, we sure can the the impossibility because even the word impossible also said thatI'm possible.
