Coconut is one of the tropical plants that grow in coastal areas.
Many countries are in tropical areas, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Madagascar, Suriname, Philippines, Brazil, Micronesia, Fiji, Sri Lanka, Colombia, Peru, Nicaragua and surrounding areas.
Indonesia is one of the equatorial regions and is the country with the third longest coastline in the world approximately 95,000 km by length. One of the areas in Indonesia that passes through the coastline is Aceh, a province at the far end of the island of Sumatra.
Because it is located in a coastal area, many coconut trees grow there. Coconut trees that grow near the coast will grow well and the fruit will be large and dense.
Acehnese people since long time ago have benefited greatly from coconuts. There are come from the fruit, leaves, stems, even waste from coconut processing.
One of the benefits of coconut is its fruit. The unripe fruit that is taken is the water to drink and the soft fruit contents as a mixture of coconut water.
If the fruit is ripe, what is taken is the water but it is rarely drunk because it is not very fresh. And the flesh of the fruit is processed into coconut milk. Coconut milk is one of the most important ingredients in Acehnese cuisine. It can be a food ingredient or as a drink mix. The rest of the coconut after the water and flesh are removed is simply thrown away as waste. So that the freezing of waste at the end will increase the amount of waste that must be burned, and this is one of the causes of the thinning of the ozone layer in the atmosphere.

But nowadays, in Aceh, businesses are starting to develop to utilize coconut waste to be processed into more useful products, like home tool , or as export commodities to various countries around the world.
Some of the coconut waste that has been successfully processed are:

COCO Bristle

Coco peat is coir dust produced from filtered coconut fiber.
Coco peat is widely used as an excellent planting medium and as botanical soil.
Among the processed products from coconut fiber, only coco peat can be directly used by the people of Aceh as a planting medium. Meanwhile, coco fiber and bristle are sent to Java, one of the industrial islands in Indonesia, to be processed to the next stage into various products. Because in Aceh there are no companies that process coco fiber and coco bristle to the next stage to become various products. There are also no companies that can export coco fiber and coco bristle directly.

The advantages of coco fiber are
Become an alternative option for the replacement of synthetic or non-renewable materials
Cheaper than synthetic fiber
By using natural fibers, it is hoped that it can reduce pollution and global warming.
And become one kind of nature conservation with a campaign Back To Nature.
