Greetings fellow steemians and members of this great community.
How are you doing in your respective countries? I hope you are all sound and healthy? Happy Halloween 🎃 Holidays to my foreign friends/followers.
I am here once again to share my trip experience to Ibom Iconic Hotel And Golf Resort. It is the biggest Hotel in my town. That is, Akwa Ibom State, and Uyo precisely. This is my first time of visiting the hotel/resort, though I went for business but I decided to enjoy the euphoria of the moment and also take pictures as part of a treat for me to compliment my coming birthday which is November 2nd.
Let us get to the story.
It was beautiful Friday morning. The weather was normal, though these days we don't trust the weather by what the sky and cloud tells in the morning, things might change at any moment. All thanks to God because today was actually free of rain. This is November so we do not even expect rainfalls anymore. We are anticipating harmattan season. A dry season with dry wind and scorching sunlight.
I woke up sound and healthy. I was really prepared for the day, so when I woke I knew everything was already in place. They say "when planning meets opportunity it will definitely lead to success" I had kept everything in place just to ease me the stress of searching for anything.
Here are the items I made sure was in place:
- The letter I was to submit for signing and stamping.
- A wallet to house my money and pen.
- A shoe polish and brush for shinning my brogues.
- My double breast jacket and long sleeve shirt.
- The suit pants, tie, tie pin, and cufflinks.
I was to meet with the MD of the hotel so I had to look like an MD of another company or firm so that I could be attended to fast and respectfully. I had to look good, since I already had everything in place I just jumped into the bathroom and had a cold shower, came out looking fresh and feeling fly.
Gussy up
I got dressed, picked up my wallet and the letter and hit the road.
On my way going
The journey was a stressful one because it was not a direct trip. I boarded a tricycle from my street, which is a street located in Urua Ekpa road. We now headed to Uyo Plaza. When I got to plaza I was told that I would not find any bus or taxi heading to that hotel, that the hotel is in another community entirely. So I joined a mini bus that took me from Uyo plaza to University of Uyo(permanent site) roundabout by Ring road at Nwana Iba road. I alight in roundabout and took another mini bus heading to Afiayo. Though I enjoyed the site seeing during the trip but it was not what I expected. The journey was too long. longer than I expected. I nearly exhausted my transportation because I spent more than I thought I was going to spend.
Arriving the driveway heading to the gates of the hotel I was told I had two options of transportation to hotel.
- Using a luxurious taxi that will drive you up to the lobby of the hotel.
- Using a motorcycle which will ride me to the gates and I complete the trip by trekking to the lobby.
Road leading to the golf course and the parking lot of the hotel
The taxi were quite expensive and I did not carry much money. Secondly I wanted to ensure I used that opportunity to site see a bit of the hotel while I trek.
On getting to the lobby I headed straight to the receptionist counter and asked to meet with the MD.
The receptionist counter
and one of the beautiful ladies serving as a receptionist took a landline telephone and dialed the MD's office after which she told me that the MD is not on seat but that I can drop the letter with them in another department. She pointed to a man who was like a tour guide who will take me to the department responsible for signing and stamping the letters and return my own copy. I sat there enjoying the view of the hotel's lobby while waiting for them to sign, stamp and seal my own copy of the letter.
Some pictures taken in the hotel's lobby
When they were done, they asked me to write my name, date, address of the letter, that is, where the letter comes from and sign my autograph at the end on a log book. I did exactly as they instructed me. Got my copy, left them and headed towards one section of the hotel which an art/technology awareness event was going on.
Shots on the red carpet
Shots of some artifact in the event
Took a couple of photos on the red carpet.
Shots taken outside
Left the event and exit the lobby, went outside took a couple of photos while heading to the gate for a bike(motorcycles) to go and submit the letter at the park so it could be sent back to Port Harcourt where it came from.
As I got to my destination I got the bike man's phone number in case of another event.
My last photo at the hotels signpost
I took a photo at their signpost before flagging down a mini bus heading back to Plaza.
When I got to plaza took another mini bus that took me to Idoro road where I submitted my letter and went back home. I was famished and feeble, so when I got home I just ate and tested.
On my way home

Hi... I know how you feel right now. I think the main reason is that you have received a plagiarism tag in our community. It always gives a bad reputation and black mark on your profile. I guess you should understand that using AI/ Plagiarism is not tolerated here.

Anyway, as you are in a good track currently, let me review your profile and I will remove the tag. And meanwhile you can join different contest and other communities as well. As I see you are a good artist, you can join art related contest. Try to follow those contest rules.
