My journey was a lonely one and it made me leave more than once. The second try the freewriters welcomed me. @mariannewest was helpful and so were the others who showed me around and told me what I could do. If people are helpful you help them back. Many of those I knew back then died or are seriously ill today.

I never really had one, no mentor but there are Steemians I still remember no matter if they are still present.
@patjewell I nominate you. You are the only person I know who sacrificed literally everything to help this platform and Steemians out. How many still remember you or were you only good to fill the pockets of others and the working horse of the Ladies of Steem? There's no better, attentive, helpful person than you, always reaching out to the biggest idiots and brainless people without discrimination.

At the start of the year 2024, I roamed Steemit and met someone I like to nominate today.
@jiva34, indeed not a 70+ level but an old and elderly Steemian (77 years old) who is doing her damnedest. I invited her to join the freewriters. It is a pleasure to read her and she always surprises me with her words, ideas, the way she finds her way on Steemit and her kindness.
Her account was hacked and with some help, she managed to generate new keys and I am glad she is still here. I would not want to miss her, because she is what this platform needs. A fast learner and without that hack she would still be in club100. Do we only do #learnwithsteem and participate in all SLCs? She followed #wewrite and had to give up because of a tornado, but is still active. She is the example of a student you can only dream of, she has learned and puts what she learned into practice unlike all other students I see

That is me since I have the most response plus I am everywhere but let's not be that selfish.
@solperez, instead of me, I will give you the honour with your contest Art & Writing. How hard have you tried and still try to give art a popular face, the SEC went great but next? You still post and your contest is unique and it takes a lot of time to find all those painters, more than anyone will ever believe. It's not a quick copy-paste post. You are creative and broaden your horizons and are active in different communities. You have been a curator and joined a learning team. This year was a good one for you, Steemit and I hope art as well.

@cryptopie I nominate you. You write daily, share and care, no matter how you feel and you are an investor, exactly what the platform wants. You kept your trust in and enthusiasm for Steemit and never hesitate to promote the platform. You are definitely one of the best commenters and are always willing to give a helping hand. Tips you give, to newcomers as well, are helpful. It's an honour to know you.
Wait... I nominated but hey, I don't have level 70+ unlike my other account but does that really matter Steemit Team? I believe I like those I mentioned proved our value for this platform and indeed nothing is sure and we all can drop dead on the spot but so can you.
Of course, you are free to set the rules but at times I wonder if that is the case why exceptions are easily made by you and always the same are in the picture. Did they really deserve it?

Mi amiga, suscribo todo lo que has dicho con respecto a @patjewell. Realmente, con ella, con @weisser-rabe, con @dove11 y contigo he logrado tener una conexión maravillosa. Creo que somos almas que disfrutamos más "dar que recibir". Además tenemos mucha sensibilidad hacia las artes. Quizás por eso también rechazamos las trampas, los abusos y los intereses descarados. Pero, ¿cómo hacerle frente a esto?
Creo que haciendo lo que hacemos, sobre todo lo que haces tú, "decir verdades" cuando haya que decirlas.
Me siento honrada de estar en esta lista. Y sí, no es fácil llevar el Concurso de Arte y Escritura. Pero para mí. no hay nada mejor que aprender. Un abrazo.

Haces bien y el arte, los creativos, los inventores pueden parecer aburridos pero son los que colorean la vida y los viejos artistas no deben ser ignorados: escultores, arquitectos, pintores, músicos, poetas, narradores,, cineastas.... ¿Qué sería de la vida sin ellos? Hola querida, gracias por tu respuesta. Si los nominados no son elegidos que así sea, pero al menos he mencionado su nombre. Un largo CV en Steemit no prueba nada. Eso es lo que he aprendido este año.
Una mala conexión es una carga. Luché con una durante muchos años. Es comprensible que no se puede navegar libremente. Se necesita mucho tiempo si el Internet es limitado.

I clicked the "mentions tab" in steemworld.org to see who mentions me which is why I was able to see this post @havebeenupkitty.pal @wakeupkitty and I appreciate it very much that you value me as rather unique member of the steemit community.
All that I do is enjoying this platform for what I can contribute in my own relaxed way so that I will not feel the burnout. I regard this platform as my shoulder to cry on because in the "real world" there is no one really that can help me in terms of my current health situation because I cannot put emotional burden to my parents so that they will not worry, then I do not have friends around (n the real world) that I can talk to except for a few people here in steem like you Miss @wakeupkitty who seem to be one of the positive-thinking people that I know now and need because individuals like you really are a rarity especially to me.
For me, most people outside are just hostile because I already had proven to myself that if a person feels superior unto somebody may it be with societal ranking, positions in jobs perhaps, physical attributes, and especially being financially well-off compared to others, they will be like Kings, Queens, and Lords to others. So any people around which are humble and kind, I tend to be more comfortable being with them. But with "hostile" individuals, I tend to avoid them as much as possible.
That is why I stayed here in Steemit and made this platform a pert of my life now where I did made a huge investment because Steemit has a noble use case which is help people out from poverty. Although again, it is not as easy as it seems and it does take a lot of time for a beginner that will be starting out from zero, but at least now we can build our accounts without anyone anymore destroying it and then we have a hope that one day we can also reap what we had sown if we dedicated our time and if possible, money with our work, it will all pay-off.
Steemit has bee a part of my life since i joined from 2017 and never missed a day without visiting this platform because of what it had to offer in my life, it actually had been the instrument of God sin saving me with my health issues and had it not been from this site I will not be able to get a fighting chance of what I perceive before as an unwinnable health battle with Leontiasis and yet I am currently overcoming it and the evidence is that it didn't get worse but instead, it stopped progressing.
My saga would have been ended in a bitter tragedy without the inception of Steemit in my life, I am so indebted in this platform with the help and support of past and maybe future friends that I will hopefully meet/ So for as long as God wills it for me I will be make it a point to be always present in this platform which I guess is my destiny to be a member because for one thing it saved my life and then continuously giving me a lot of consolation with my current life.
Thanks be to God and the men and women of Steemit, there are many of you and all that I can do is to hope for everybody's lives to change for the #betterlife with STEEM and God in our right. 😀👍

People like you are rare. You are still grateful, attentive and committed to Steemit and it would be good if others felt the same. You mentioned a very important thing and that is how you use the platform for your mental health and a way to stay in touch with friends and the world outside.
I do find it sad that in the real word it's hard to make friends since there are so many people and most of them complain that real friends are hard to find. So if that is the case how come no one finds someone they can share their lives and struggles with? It's something I don't understand and all I can think of is that we people are very picky if it comes to whom we like to befriended with. I am not so sure if it's about looks or money or perhaps both and envy takes the overhand. It's hard to deal with people like that. A plus with friendships online is that one can ask and decide what to say, what not or simple switch the device off if not in the mood this for sure and keeping it as a hobby and safeline helps against a burnout. It's sad that social media, something that should be fun gives so many, if not nearly everyone an uncomfortable feeling and burnouts seem to be more normal than rare.

I do have many friends in the real world, much of them are from our church (Mcgi.org), the used to visit me one in a while to check up on me, they are ready to help within their capacity. But they can only help much and although they are true friends to me, we are not close personally. However I am very lucky to have them thanks be to the teaching of the Lord Jesus which teaches to love one another and other people which our church advocates.
