Hi steemits, today I will introduce Tarek trawl,
The sun was almost setting, when I was waiting for dusk and I saw a number of fishermen slowly pulling trawlers from the sea at Gampong Ujong Blang Beach, Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City, North Aceh Province. in Aceh, since the time of the Aceh sultanate, this tradition has been practiced by the people of Aceh in the 16th century,
The fishermen stand in a row, with a rope wrapped around their waist hooked by a long trawl that stretches out into the sea.
In Aceh, this tradition is known as Tarek (Tarik) Pukat. Before being drawn, the trawl is first anchored to the sea using a wooden boat, the distance is approximately 500 meters from the shoreline.
The trawl is kept in a circle, with both ends of the rope remaining on the beach. The targeted fish were caught in the middle.
The two ends of the rope are what is being pulled. They were divided into two groups. One group is usually five people. It took about 2 hours to successfully pull all the trawlers onto the shoreline.
In Ujong Blang, Tarek Pukat is performed 3 times a day, morning, afternoon and evening. If the weather is good, the sea level is good, this activity is also done at night.
However, this tradition has a little to preserve it, because the boat fishermen who are looking for fish on the shore,
I salute the crew of Tarek trawlers on land, they still maintain this tradition, even though the fish they get is sometimes very minimal,
That is my story today about Tarek pukat, my message is to love and take care of our tradition, don't lose it, hope it is useful, greetings of success, greetings, steemit.
