Since I started messing around with fractals I've been meaning to do something animated but hadn't gotten around to it until now. They're not the fastest thing to render and I have to choose between rendering and uploading a video(bit more work and people need to click on it) or rendering gifs(faster but worse quality because Steem has an image size upload limit) I went with the gifs. As I just wrote that it occurred to me I could probably host these elsewhere and just link to them. I might set something like that up for the future.
It has a very smeary look that I couldn't really appreciate in the stills I'd done up until now, but seeing it in motion it feels like there's a compressed state that the more balanced looking forms are constantly phasing in and out of. Really interesting.
This one looks like some sort of space blossom.
Wanted to focus a bit more on the close up details this time. The stills don't really have an implied sense of motion in them, it makes me wonder if I could see the entire life cycle of most living creatures in a few seconds would we all share some characteristics with this fractal animation? Hmm...
