For this #showcase-sunday I want to share a post that was a pretty cool milestone for me on Steem. This post from around 2 years ago was my first @curie upvote. At the time I had no idea what @curie was or really all that much understanding of how Steem worked. All I knew was that up until this point most of my post were making sub .20 cent with a few outliers breaking $1. Then suddenly this one had $52 and 249 people voting on it.
I didn't know what a curation trail was at the time. I thought "I've finally been discovered!" lol It'll be smooth sailing from here. I'll be one of those people on trending with hundreds of dollars on my post. I also didn't know what bidbots were at the time and didn't realize everything on trending was all bidbotted up.
The post directly after this one made .09 cent haha. It was a pretty exciting time on Steem though. Getting a @curie upvote felt like winning the lottery and it made for an interesting gamification.
This was actually a part of a tutorial that I'd made and posted on Dtube. It's gone now and unfortunately I think I deleted that original video but I still have the demonstration of the painting. The tutorial was about Photoshop brushes and how to use them, might make a good redo to redo that at some point. This painting was a 1 hour demo where I was demonstrating what could be done with the brushes I'd just talked about.

It's great to see how your skills have evolved as of the past 2 years, though I have only been here since some months ago. I too, was incredibly excited when I got my first Curie vote, as a "Wow, I made it, mom! " moment. I hope to grow like you one day...

I need to get some power cables for my extra two drives (assuming they work, I attempted to test them in my caddy and found out that didn't work >_<) so I have a drive for the raw video precisely so I don't have to do this (because I like keeping original copies of stuff I've posted which may have come about as a subconscious reaction to having to help sort out a "custody battle" between two other people over a freaking fancharacter of all things which I only got roped into because I was an admin on one of the sites it was happening on and the matter was sorted because I happened to have a site backup showing who had actually posted a concept of said character first).
Also think I'm going to make an ipfs node for dtube if I can afford to get a server to chuck in the house as it's a bit prohibitive to do on my vps >_<

I originally read this comment on eSteem and it didn't show that the first part was a quote lol. I thought you were saying YOU deleted my video off dtube, then went on to talk about power cables and I was like wtf is he saying haha. It all makes sense now :p
