All Malaysians in Beirut, Lebanon are safe and not involved in a warehouse explosion at a port in the country.
Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said a preliminary report from the Malaysian Representative in Beirut said all Malaysians there were safe and had been advised to remain in their homes.
"Malaysia is saddened and always prays for the Lebanese people who we believe are very resilient in the face of this test.
"InsyaAllah, Malaysia will help whatever it can," he said in a statement on his social media site Facebook and Twitter, today.
Two powerful explosions were reported at Beirut Port on Tuesday evening, killing dozens and injuring more than 2,000.
The effects of the blast also affected several buildings around the port area, including former residences
The Prime Minister, Saad Hariri was destroyed and severely damaged.
The blast not only caused damage at the scene but also caused damage to other buildings located a few kilometers from the blast area.
Thick black smoke clouds can be seen for about 10 kilometers.
