On 5th April the President of Ghana came to deliver a speech on the updates of the partial lock down imposed on the red zones within the nation, that is basically the Greater Accra Region and the Greater Kumasi Region. As it stands now the our cases have reached 287 with 5 deaths, 3 recoveries, 228 responding well to treatment and 49 under home treatment. The president has informed the general public to continue to stay at home, he has also agreed to take the water bills of all Ghanaians for the next three months to help alleviate the financial constraints that may arise as a results of this condition. He has also increased the salaries of frontline workers by 50% for the next three months and has mandated the electricity company of Ghana to ensure smooth electrical transmission in these times of staying home.
We are happy to learn that lots of philantropic organizations and wealthy individuals within the society are doing everything they can to help in diverse ways including provision of hand sanitizers, PPEs, hand washing equipments etc. Most of the alcoholic beverage industries have also added the manufacturing of hand sanitizers to their production list and Ghanaian are patronizing made in Ghana good more as the president instruct local production to increase their productivity. Although experts claim the worse it yet to come, we are hopeful for the very Best and we pray the Lord sees us through this. Indeed, this too shall pass.
