Hello all steemian friends wherever you are, I hope you are all always healthy. In this post I want to discuss the world's view of lions "are they the king of the jungle"

Quoted from the Wonderopolis page, experts explain that technically lions are not kings of the jungle. They don't even live in forests because their habitat is in the desert.

Mostly, lions live in Africa such as Angola, Botswana, Mozambique and Tanzania. Apart from that, lions are also found in the Central African Republic and South Sudan as well as India.

If lions really lived in the forest, they would not be called kings but queens. Why? Here's the explanation.

Lion 'Queen' of the Jungle

The reason why the lion can be called the queen of the jungle is because the lioness is the figure who holds the pride of the herd.

A lion pride can contain an average of 13 adult lions living together. If grouped smaller, a pride of lions only consists of one male living in it.

Male lions have the main task of protecting their territory. The roar emitted from a male lion can travel as far as five kilometers.

This can be used as a way of showing pride and a warning for lions from other packs to keep their distance.

Unlike males who have a roar, a pride of female lions does more than that. He is a hunter and is responsible for feeding the flock.

These females more reliably hunt with the pack at night and return in the morning to provide food for the cubs and male lions.

The basic reason lionesses are more skilled at hunting is because this is their job. They need to get food to pride themselves with the pack and serve the first meat to the male lion.

However, if you look at her body posture, the lioness has a flexible, long body and does not have a mane. So their bodies are ideal for hunting because they don't get hot.

Apart from that, the Snow Africa Adventures page states that female lions are much faster than males. If males run at a speed of 56 km/hour, female lions can reach speeds of up to 72 km/hour.

This combination of slender body and speed allows them to run faster to reach their prey. Thus lionesses always have better conversion rates.

In addition, lionesses are responsible for raising their cubs and often give birth at almost the same time.

With such an extraordinary role, it was only natural that he would live with the same group throughout their lives. However, it is not uncommon for lionesses to also leave to form their own prides elsewhere.

Meanwhile, male lions will leave the pack when they are three years old. When they are adults they will assume responsibility for protecting their territory and producing offspring.

Currently, lions are considered a species that is vulnerable to extinction. It is known that only around 20,000 lions live in the wild.

So, that's the explanation about whether the lion is really the king of the jungle. The answer is, it's just an expression.

Although it is true, not the king but the queen of the jungle sees the many roles played by the lioness.

Thank you, hopefully it's useful, my regards @achysteem
