The cute and adorable behavior of cats often makes us laugh and entertain us. In fact, the "meow" sound that comes out of a cat's mouth sounds spoiled and adorable.

Not to mention small, furry cats who really like to play, making us even more unable to resist loving them.

But do cats know when they're cute? There isn't much research to tell us whether they do cute things on purpose or not, but there are explanations for the things they do.

What makes it look cute? The exact answer will depend on the person and their preferences, but most people probably find their small, furry bodies, wide eyes, and tiny faces adorable.

Why? Generally, humans are naturally attracted to things that resemble babies, such as animals or cartoons.

This may be why kittens, puppies, and other baby animals can tug at a person's heartstrings, and the cuteness alerts that pop up in our brains can continue after an animal enters adulthood.

Unlike dogs, who have learned to use a variety of facial and body expressions to convey their cuteness (sometimes manipulating their adoring owners into giving them what they want), cats do things a little differently.

Purring, kneading, chasing and hitting toys, stalking, pouncing, and snuggling against sunny windowsills are just some of the cutest cat behaviors we're likely to see.

One behavior that is commonly seen and often considered cute is head bumping, which is when a cat gently taps your forehead with the top of its head, perhaps even adding a little nuzzle.
