I am writing this story in response to @cjsdns Rosy-pink with regards to the post "Am I looking wrong"
I noticed that she is stressed about farming potatoes because of the weather and the government seems no action to it.
I remember a story from a book. This story will reveal your behavior on how you respond to unforeseeable and uncontrollable forces in your life.
Life does not always follow a predictable pattern. We are constantly confronted with surprises, catastrophes, and unforeseeable disasters with little opportunity to psychologically prepare. Surprises of any kind may be stressful, whether it's an unexpected proposal or a sudden breakup. We can't forecast or control too many things, which is one of the reasons we all form routines and patterns to follow.
When you go outside, tremendous rain hits you. Even if you run at top speed, you'll still be around five minutes late. Which of the following statements most accurately reflects your course of action?
- "I'd seek shelter behind an awning or a tree and wait for the rain to stop."
- "I don't know how much longer it'll rain, so I'd dash to where I'm going as quickly as I could."
- I'd look around to see if someone had an umbrella they could lend me or if there was a store where I could buy one." "
- "When I go out, I always carry a folding umbrella in my luggage, so I'd just use that."
How did you react to the unexpected downpour?
The rainfall symbolizes life's unpredictable and uncontrollable elements. Your response reveals how you behave when a fight breaks out between you and a loved one or a friend.
"I'd seek shelter behind an awning or a tree and wait for the rain to stop."
You're the sort who waits until the other person in an argument has calmed down before attempting to resolve your disagreements. You'd rather let them rant and rave until they run out of steam, then calmly and objectively deliver your argument. Some may argue that this is a clever strategy, while others may argue that it is simply deception."I don't know how much longer it'll rain, so I'd dash to where I'm going as quickly as I could."
You don't care about the outcome of a conflict as much as the opportunity to express yourself. You're certain you're correct, so there's no need in debating the matter. You don't use the principle of give-and-take in your strategy. If they become enraged, you become enraged as well. You shout if they start yelling. This doesn't make you a lot of fun to debate with, but it does make it clear where you stand on issues.I'd look around to see if somebody had an umbrella they could lend me or if there was a store where I could buy one."
You dislike confrontations and disagreements, so whenever one arises, you try to diffuse the situation and soothe the other person down. Unfortunately, this can occasionally make problems worse. It might be necessary for you to take a stand and weather the storm now and then."Whenever I go out, I always carry a foldable umbrella in my bag, so I'd just use that."
You believe you have an answer for every charge and defense for every mistake. To you, a discussion may just be a chance to practice your debating abilities, but to others, you appear slick, annoying, and fake. Of course, you probably have a valid reason for that as well.
