Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said on Saturday that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had recovered Rs33 billion so far in the fake accounts case involving former President Asif Ali Zardari, adding that the case's actual financial irregularities totaled around Rs5,000 billion.
"One can understand the extent of corruption in the country given NAB's recovery of Rs33 billion, which is roughly $200 million," the minister tweeted, in a veiled attack of Sindh's provincial government and PPP leadership.
