"Mezban": traditional Mezban arrangement@rezaulfdm

Celebrating of Mezban at Shah Cement Industries Ltd.

"Mezban" is a special attraction of Bangladeshi tradition, especially in Chittagong. Throw a big party. A large number of people are invited. Many people sit together and eat on a large scale. Various dishes made of beef are the main attraction of this food. Especially the black roast beef is the main attraction.

Each industry in our Abul Khair group hosts these "hosts" in turn. Following this, Mejban 2023 was held at Shah Cement Industries on March 14 this year.

10,000 people were fed at this banquet. 14 cows produced about 4000 kg of beef. There were four items with the beef. Beef kalo bhuna (black roast), jhal mejban meat, beef nihari, dal, and bone were also various chicken alternatives for non-beef eaters. And there was delicious Borhani for everyone.

Invitations are sent to everyone before the event. All are requested to bring the card with them. At one meeting in a huge pandal, 1500 people are fed. Special entrances are arranged for the orderly arrival and departure of guests.

The volunteer teams

Voluntary teams are formed with their own manpower. Divided into various sub-groups, the volunteers worked tirelessly to organize and make the event a success. All the employees of the institution and the villagers went home with great satisfaction.

Various VIP guests came from different agencies of our government, like the DC office, the police authority, the local government, the local chairman and city mayor, our neighboring industries, and the top management of our company. Our respected villagers, respected village leaders, imams, moazzins etc.

Although the management committee of the organization and their volunteers put in a lot of effort, they feel self-interested to be able to provide a festive atmosphere to so many people with a little special food at a time.
