Time - entity that is the basis of how sequential events in the universe are recorded, behaves in mysterious ways like, why it appears to move in one direction - arrow of time, it's asymmetric flow and as suggested by the British astronomer Arthur Eddington, is responsible for the existence of past, present and future.
Also the exact nature of time has eluded even the greatest minds since antiquity, some Philosophers including Sir Isaac Newton held a realist belief, in that time was real and absolute - Newtonian view, while some others held an anti-realist belief, suggesting that time was a subjective aspect developed by us to sequence events.
Something sort of a breakthrough came in the 20th century following the inception of the theories of relativity (special and general) by Albert Einstein, in which he reinterpreted the physical notions of space, time and motion, thus cementing the cracks presented by the Newtonian view.
These are what we now know about time....Read more
