Has anybody tried something like this?

A New Kind of Crypto Miner

Mining HNT is done by installing a simple device on your office window. That’s it. Seriously.
...
Hotspots provide miles of wireless network coverage for millions of devices around you using Helium LongFi, and you are rewarded in HNT for doing this. And because of an innovative proof-of-work model (we call it “Proof-of-Coverage”), your Hotspot only uses 5W of energy.

The Helium website has more.

I have never done something like this, but it sounds interesting, what I would do is investigate more

I noted some articles and blog posts about people who were running one of these, so I'll see what I can learn from their experiences.

It looks like this allows users to set up a mesh network, and the installed devices, which are "community approved" demonstrate poc (proof of coverage—i.e. providing active network validation) in order to remain an active miner.

Anybody here involved in any projects like this?
