Description: "Are you ready for a maybe-just-maybe intense meteor shower like nothing you’ve ever seen before? It's just possible that it could happen this week. "
This evening astronomers predict that there could be an outburst in the night sky of between 1,400 to 100,000 meteors as Earth busts through dust and debris left in the inner solar system by Comet 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3. It broke apart in 1995 and may cause something truly spectacular ... or maybe not. Some scientists are predicting an outburst rich only in extremely faint meteors, so prepare for disappointment. You can watch it online here at 11:00 EDT tonight – May 30, 2022 (04:00 UTC on May 21, 2022).

Looks like nice viewing weather in Pennsylvania tonight. Fingers crossed!

I will definitely take the opportunity to look at the night sky. But not today, today it is too cloudy. I love watching astronomical phenomena. This fascination came to me when I had plenty of time to observe Comet Gale-Bopp. It had two tails and was extremely bright. It made an unforgettable impression on one young man - me.

According to the article, Wednesday and Thursday also look like potentially good nights. It may be possible to see "Earth shine" then without the need for binoculars, also Friday - with binoculars (Wednesday might need binoculars, too).

Thanks for the info.
Do you also like to observe astronomical phenomena? What do you remember the most?

In recent years, I have enjoyed experimenting with "night sky photography" in my own neighborhood and "dark sky photography" when I get the chance for a road trip. Here are some past activities with my son (@cmp2020), and a couple of his friends (@astronomyizfun and @cmac).
This picture with Mars above the horizon, from our 2018 trip is still my favorite:
And I like this one, too, with the accidental effect of starlight reflecting off the car. Of course, I didn't even know about the reflection until I downloaded the photos later, but I like how it turned out.
Both photos were taken with a cell phone (on a tripod).

Honestly, these are incredible photos. But what impressed me the most was that they were made with a cell phone. Now I wanted to experiment myself.
Thanks for your comment :-)

These events in the sky are great, the truth is I always see them on you tube and even there they look fantastic

I had missed that rare moment last night.
But tonight, I had planned to enjoy the view of the crescent moon.

I went outside for about 15 minutes last night, but unfortunately I didn't see any meteors. I might try to get some photos of "Earth shine" on the moon tomorrow or Thursday.

Even though tonight I had planned to take a picture of the crescent moon, but unfortunately it was cloudy in my village. ️😥😥
