There are no Polar Opposites in life.
Darkness is not the opposite of light but the absence of it. Hot is not the opposite of cold, they are both temperature levels influenced by the movement of atoms; rapid moving atoms in an object makes the object hot, whereas non movement of these same atoms makes the object cold; would one then say moving atoms is the opposite of still atoms? No, I think not.
Good and evil: they are abstract concepts entirely dependent on subjective perception; in most cultures, it is evil for an unmarried couple to be seen walking hand in hand in public places, whereas other cultures are not at all concerned with it. Most people see nothing wrong in animal “cruelty”, but some people consider it an offence that should be punishable by law. In most cultures, sex education is given to children from as early as nursery school, whereas in most other cultures, the discussion of sex related matters are frowned upon and seen as irresponsibility, immaturity and sexual perversion. Thus, good and evil are non-existent as separate entities, but are merely abstract concepts wholly dependent on subjective perception.
Nothing is good or evil in itself but to he who deems a thing good – it is good, and to he who deems a thing evil – it is evil.
If black is the opposite of white, what is the opposite of grey?
A symbiotic relationship is shared by all things seemingly opposite; the light needs the darkness as much as the darkness needs the light, for without one we would not know the other. Working together, they create wonderful polarities of mutual opposition not because they are opposite but because they are different entities working together.
