I always used to be that person who never does unless what he genuinely enjoys, and I was wrong. A lot of things must be done regardless of how joyful they are. But, now I feel I've gone to the other extreme, which also isn't good, I guess.
I used to create content; both video and written content, and I genuinely enjoyed every second doing that, but content so far never had provided me with money, and that's not a problem, unless I have a financial setback.
I'm now forced to think in dollars; in terms of how many dollars would doing something will get me as a return. A great part of the reason is; I'm in debt, again. My bad spending habits got me back in debt, and now I think I've lost the freedom of doing what I love with my time.
I'm sure you guys know how pressuring being in debt is, even though it became normal that almost 70% or more is in debt, right now, in any shape or form of debt.
I now have a job that I don't genuinely enjoy, but as the ability to help me hopefully pay my debt, which isn't a huge debt but I had a negative experience with debt that I wrote about before. It's my chance to pay off my debt completely and never ever hopefully put myself into that position again where I have to borrow money in any shape or form.
I wish that I get rid of the financial distress so I can get back to thinking in terms of what is valuable and what do I enjoy doing; like writing, shooting content, and teaching English!
I just wanted to share this with you guys and I feel much better after writing this, I hope that you could give me advice on that matter if you have experience with being in debt.
In a world where everything has a prizetag it is hard not to be in debt. The result is always we delete all the fun out of our lives to pay of but forget that without fun there's nothing left that brings joy and energ. No matter how hard a healthy balance is needed to keep the engine run.
A job we dislike is better than none and it helps if you focus on paying of and for the rest dream, create and do whst you like in the spare time left. Every week is a step closer to debt free and... Freedom!

I completely agree with you. "a job we dislike is better than none". I'll try to do both, to do things I enjoy with my spare time and to try and pay it off as soon as possible so I could get back to my usual lifestyle. Thanks a lot ❤️

I had a super "boring" job and no one understood why I did it. I had a hard time those first days because I started to count how many magazines went through the machine, how many were bundled, bundles on pallets, how many pallets per hour, per day and night...🤭
But that passed and I had time to think of my hobbies, writing, art and so on and it paid. Especially, the night shifts. If they wouldn't have went bankrupt I would still work there. I have responsibilities enough, could walk over, great collegues/with humour (mainly men). I was in charge of the engine (mechanic) so not too heavy work and a great partner, we were the best/fastest.
So the "boring" work gave me all the time in the world to think, dream and plan.
As long as you can calculate when you paid off it is good. In the meanwhile you discover all your other skills and enjoy them.
We all (family, friends) do it this way. We don't see a job as a way to climb a ladder, it no longer is. It's a source of income and a plus if you meet some people to talk with, connect and... you never know how that works out to something better/else.
Here no longer papers are asked or you are told you are too high educated for the job. We heard that over 20 years which is frustrating.
In debts? Please, do reward yourself once per month for paying off and you made it. It can be something small, no need to pay a lot but it is important to feel good.
Know that most people today are in debts, loans for phones, cars, bikes, TV, fridge, vacations, clothes you name it. Here no one paid his house off they hope the insurance will if the partner dies and the children can rarely inherent it because they should pay high taxes over it.
So no debts is richdom today and freedom. The one who pays decides.

Reading this made me feel much better I swear. It's exactly as you said; a job provides us with the ability to fund our lives and get going, pay debts and much more. Sure will come a day where we could focus more on things that we genuinely enjoy, and I believe Steemit could be a great supporter to this lifestyle where you get paid for doing the things you enjoy. This comments means a lot to me so thanks ❤️❤️

I've been there due to my ex and a friend I tried to help out. The result was I carried the debts and they started a new life.
The bitterness for me was that not one cent I paid off was because I had fun, a good time ir even ate some candy bar or good food.
It helped me to calculate what the minimum was I needed, to reward myself first (save even it it is 1 dollar per week), pamper yourself once per month if the new income arrives (coffee, cake, cream, a magazine, walk in the park), do 3 nice things for yourself daily (hot shower, sit in the sun, listen to music) and write it down.
If it comes to jobs: employers expect loyalty but everyone can and will be replaced. It's good to build a life, who you are on your likes and focus on that. The job is just a small part of our lives and it should stay that way so there's no emptiness or loss of identity if jobless.
You will make it if you stay true to yourself.
I hope Steemit will be that help.

Exactly, a job shouldn't be more than a small part of our lives not "our lives". I also understand the point you explained that I need to also reward myself to handle the financial stress which is one of the worst types of stress. I really hope Steemit will be that help as well. I'll try my best to do things that I enjoy so I'm not always under this pressure. Thanks again ❤️

As long as you are aware of the funny, relaxing things you do (writing them down helps to see it's not all about work) you will find that balance.

That's for sure. And that's what I hope to achieve very soon.
