THE UNTAMED

Once upon a time in the life of every young man,
A state of Innocence,
Being young and free spirited,
Having access here and there,
A free mind too.

The world seem like a perfect place,
And life itself is full of essence,
It is a treasured state,
One of great value,
A state where we care less about circumstances,
In which our lives are more enjoyable.

It becomes a shame,
That this state does not stay for long,
As experience creeps in,
We begin to see clearly a fallen world,
Then our innocence is dashed.

Even the best of them struggle to survive,
The knowledge of the fallen world is overwhelming,
The young suddenly becoming the old,
With an addendum attached to it,
This is not what we bargained for.

Oh, how far we have strayed,
Our steps we cannot retrace,
We have traded our innocence for naught,
We have fallen from the goal,
Oh, how we miss the old state of tranquility,
Little did we know that growing old comes with a price,
And we have paid our dues.
