He hummed the notes of the national anthem,
the crowd exclaimed a shout of joy,
they were eager for freedom.
Years of sacrifices and hardships had them exhausted,
but still the indomitable spirit of that town,
They always wanted that moment to come.
The light at the end of the tunnel was starting to shine
on the faces of brave men and women
that they would soon forget that bitter drink of their life.

siempre quisieron que llegara ese momento.

en los rostros de hombres y mujeres valientes,
que pronto olvidarían esa amarga bebida de su vida.
