Day 1297: Freewrite:Prompt: Television

in hive-161155 •  3 years ago  (edited)

Today makes it exactly 10years the incident took place. The day our house was robbed all because of a television. Our neighbour just acquired what we considered a luxury something we didn't have at home so it was impossible to resist the urge to go to his window to peep through to get a glimpse of the television. If we had known, on that faithful day we would have stayed at home. It seems whoever did it targeted us and broke into our house while we were watching the television from our neighbour's window. Each time I remember how mum wept, I regret that singular action. This forever game me the idea that the television is addictive and can cause great harm.
P.S: A true life story.

We are always surprised hiw many use their living as a window. All lights on,curtain open...it's window shopping for many. Same if you buy something...big box or not there are always people waiting for their chance.

We haven't been watching tv since years. Only exception was the news for 15 min. We don't listen to the radio either. Internet provides us in enough misery. I can imagine how you all, your mom felt. I wonder what the neighbour said, why he didn't catch the burglar...
