Saving Important Notifications with a Chrome Extension: Steemit Notification SaversteemCreated with Sketch.

After my friend @wakeupkitty mentioned me in a post by @grebmot here that he was having trouble saving important notifications on Steemit, I realized I was facing the same issue especially when I had a lot of notifications piling up, it was easy to miss important ones in the shuffle, so, I decided to create a Chrome extension to solve this problem.

What is the steemit notification saver?

The Steemit Notification Saver is a simple Chrome extension that lets you save, search, and filter important notifications from Steemit, if you find yourself struggling to keep track of notifications, this extension is designed to make it easier.

You can install the extension here:
Steemit Notification Saver on Chrome Web Store

How to use the notification saver extension

To use the extension, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the notifications page: Open the notifications page on Steemit where all your notifications are listed.

  2. Click on the notification you want to save: Find the notification you want to keep, and click on it to open the details.

  3. click on the extension icon: Once you have the notification open, click on the Steemit Notification Saver icon in your browser toolbar.

  4. Saved notifications list: You'll see a list of saved notifications. You can search by the name of the user mentioned in the notification, filter by the type of notification & view the number of each type.

  5. Managing saved notifications: The extension allows you to easily manage your saved notifications, keeping track of the ones that are most important to you, and you can delete the saved notfication .

The extension saves notifications locally, not in a database

You can watch a step by step tutorial on how to use the extension here:

Supported Bbowsers for google notifications

The extension relies on Google's notification system. Below is a list of browsers that support Google notifications:

Not only these, but also the famous ones. :

  • Google Chrome (obviously!)
  • Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)
  • Brave (Chromium-based)
  • Opera (Chromium-based)
  • Vivaldi (Chromium-based)

Hey friend, great you made it this far! I am super proud of you.
I downloaded the extension to give it a try but I hope it can be used with the KIWI or Samsung browser and Firefox.

I am not sure if @grebmot uses Chrome (neither am I).

What I could see so far is that it works but what I miss is the warning that a post is pinnend (or unpinned). I cliked at a comment twice to find out there was nothing in the list.
An other point is that I can't tell if I see the notifications what it is about.
Is it a post like yours, an informative link or a thought to write about or a creative writing I shared? I believe these are the notifications grebmot and I are printing.
It would also be helpful if notifications which we still have to answer could be pinned (a certain colour or different pin?).

Thanks for doing this. I let you know what the results are on the longer term.
