Day 1792: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: the good preacher

First of all, a good preacher has to be a believer and doer of what he or she preaches.
When I first began evangelism I used to be scared of preaching to others and being unable to meet up with those things myself.

This was the case until I realized that there is a huge difference between the word of God and words of men. When you are well involved in the word of God it just makes you what it talks about. It turns you to that person you are preaching about.

If you give full attention to the word of God you do not have to struggle to be or do those things written in it because they are things that will become the definition of you.

Now to the words of men. Men mostly do not practice what they preach. Many times they may even be willing to but do not have the capacity to do so. They can talk so much about doing things they do or do not mean to do.

A good example are our politicians. During their campaigns they make so many promises that you will think the problems of the nation will be solved they moment they get into office. Then they get in and either get selfish and intoxicated by wealth and power. And may only see the opportunity to secure a future for themselves, their born and even unborn children,

Sometimes they are forced to sway from their good intentions by those who seem to be the invisible rulers of the country. Thereby, making the visible ruler just a figurehead. Other times they come up with policies that could even create a bigger problem with another name, maybe bigger problem than the first one they had promised to solve.
This has happened time and time again, yet we still have to vote them in.

Another good example is the promises a lover makes. He or she may promise to bring you the moon and as time goes on he can not control the future happenings and goes back on his words. He may even hurt you over and over again even without willing to.

This brings us to a conclusion that man can not be a good preacher all by himself. The only way he can practice what he preaches is by the help of God. So what do we do then, we should never put our trust in any man but God. If you really want a man to practice what he preaches you have to pray for him to do so. So pray for your leaders and your lover too.
