At Last, HiveBuzz Dies With No Support!

Is it a shocker?
Let me tell you my dear reader, NO! It is not a shocker. It is perfectly normal considering our current direction. Allow me to elaborate.

  1. Before we start, what is HiveBuzz?
Like any normal forum, there are badges for engagement. Each user can view their activity badges and find what is the remaining for the next badge. In addition, you can view the rankings of all Hive Accounts, to know where you are, who is the biggest delegator or delegatee.

  2. Why is it important?
It is something that forums use to increase its users' engagement. Iterating on a quote from @slobberchops post, if you are here to milk the cash cow then, it probably doesn't matter (https://hive.blog/hive-167922/@slobberchops/are-you-on-hive-to-invest-or-to-milk-the-cash-cow).

However, if you value those who write or engage because, they enjoy it. Or, if you have been here for a while. HiveBuzz might be something that you want around. For instance, my current ranking in Hive is #23818. You can check yours too alongside your reputation according to Hive. It is really cool to see where you at and how much you moved up or down comparing to other users. It is a thing that is called "gamification" which leads me to my next point.

  1. Gamification
This has been recognized as a successful approach for many world wide recognizable companies. Where they introduce something like this to retain their user base.

But, what user base are we having or making?

  1. To Our Beloved User Base
Of course, all the users in any platform is what makes the platform successful. If people lost their interest in any a platform, it loses its value.

We all know that platforms like this is lucrative. With that being said, we understand that all of us don't mind gaining something (big or small) for our time here.

But, on what expense?

I'm not against users making profits. There is nothing wrong with that. But, at some point we may need to support those who are genuine and make decisions in favor of supporting the whole ecosystem. (Don't get me wrong here, I am not talking about HiveBuzz in particular, or in a way saying that all of their decisions are perfect. But, that will be your own opinion to make according to what value you think they are adding to the platform).

  1. What HiveBuzz needs?
If you reach here, you probably wondering, what do they need. Well,

HiveBuzz needs support on their DHF Proposal (https://peakd.com/hive-139531/@hivebuzz/proposal-2324).

According to @bradleyarrow post, there proposal is currently at 31,593,601.056HP and they need to raise it to 34,608,376.230HP.

With a little over 3 million HP of users' support to get HiveBuzz funded again. Else, its probably going to be a dead project.

To conclude, this post was written to raise awareness. If you know or would like to support HiveBuzz, then I can tell you this, every contribution helps.

Sort Order:

It is not smart to write here about Hive since they were one platform before "the top" of Steemit decided to leave (force a hard fork) and started Hive. Next, those who left started harassing many Steemians who decided to stay on Steemit or wanted to try out Hive next to Steemit (I am one of the Steemians who received terrible notes and pictures and was scolded plus been downvoted just like many others).
So let's Steemit be Steemit and Hive be Hive.

Let me first say, that one of the reasons that I am here is because, that I am free to write my thoughts, my opinions and things I saw or understood. It is like a free space for me to elaborate.

I remember a famous saying "There is only so much that you can express when you speak".

Just to be clear on this, I wasn't trying to offend anyone with it.

Let's be honest here, there are people who are still using both of the platforms. There is no complete solution or a platform yet. I still did not write the good and bad about each one.

Last but no least, I'm sorry to hear that you have to experience that. I hope it makes you feel a little better, knowing that those who use violence (in any of its forms) are those who have the least level of intellect among us. (I want to know more about what happened. Because, I'm curious. But, only if you are ok with it).

Lastly, I have no intention of promoting any website, whether now or in future. And personally, I don't want Steemit to be Hive or vise versa.

I also appreciate your honesty with your comments..

Thanks for the answer and no need to worry about me. I remember it very well but no grudge or something. I just want to make something clear and there's a reason behind everything there are Steemians who are still chased away by hive although I think after all these years both can live next to one another and there's no need to.
There never was.. besides back then I took part in the talks between those who felt "unhappy" as one of the American owners sold his share to Justin Sun (that was the main reason and where the hate started but let's be fair business is business and who owns it decides). So I made the remark: if you are not happy start something yourself. It was done and I am happy they did but what I don't understand is why starting a downvote and hate campaign? If you are happy with what you created invest your energy in the new child and not in blacklisting Steemians who stay or like to be at both places.

Besides of that ... more like back to your article, I wonder why you promote Hive here and not Steem. Or did you post the same article and replace "hive" with Steem? I just try to understand what you wrote and why.

A great day to you.

Thanks for the reply.. I have heard of what happened back in the day. I didn't give it much attention at that time.

Just want to say this, as a reader, I tend to share some of the things that I read. It is like a teaser for the things that I have read. Sometimes, I experience something in real life or online and I want to write about that.

So, where ever my thoughts are welcomed, I will be there. I do understand that you were commenting on my post out of curiosity and it is not something personal or anything. That's why I am trying to explain myself.

Regarding Hive, there are certain things that I don't like besides the downvotes. For instance, the delays with transfers. I was thinking of writing about that on Hive. it crossed my mind that it might be unpopular subject. But, it is more like a test to see how welcoming they are with someone sharing something negative about them.

It is not always rainbows and flowers everywhere. I would have more respect to those who accept that fact and are more acceptance of criticism.

Additionally, when if I read a post that you've written. It is sometimes because, I like the way you write and not necessarily the topic you are discussing in a particular post.

You too.. Have a wonderful day and weekend!

I started a community I don't know if you discovered it..
the name is "SCB Monkey Business (Steemit's Chat Box)

https://steemit.com/trending/hive-152479

Here are topics and for sure not each one of them is liked but we try to discuss these topics in the comment section. Perhaps it's worth reading?

I like to keep it kind of closed if it comes to those allowed posting a topic (a list of topics is made as well and sub topics can be started).

I am not sure what you mean by a slow transfer and if it depends on what you use but I can not imagine why this topic cannot be discussed. There is always room for improvement and we all know we can not make everyone happy.

I wish you a great weekend and you will see if you visit SCB I write too about what I read or see.

A great weekend to you!

Thanks for sharing this with me. I have subscribe to that form.

But, I was referring to Hive's delays for transferring amounts. There are certain actions that you do over there which takes a lot of time. If I were to share this here, it would be for Steemians to be aware that there is a gap in Hive and they should be aware that this affects user experience and probably work towards having a better environment.

Thanks for sharing your community chatbox with me. I have subscribed. I will check it some other time. By the way, I think the name has special characters. It appears funny on my screen.

What you see if it comes to the name is exactly what it should look like. There's no reason to be the same - Monkey Business is out of the box

LOL.. I see

It makes more sense now..
