The man had a friend, well at least he thought he had a friend. His friend was his co-worker, though his friend was always ahead of him in the company. But his friend was never there with him through the hard times. The man’s friend envied his above average scores in school, his wife, his work(that’s understandable seeing as he got the job because he was qualified while his friend had to call in a favor to get a job), his character. When the chance came to bring the house crashing on the man, his friend jumped at such a chance. Orchestrating a play so exquisite that when anyone would notice, it was too late. He was always a dramatic individual; how else would he be able to get the man to do his assignments in school?
He knew of the wife’s past and about the changes she went through just to be with the man. He also knew how to manipulate the man’s subconscious; as they say, “Friends share weal and woes together”. He worked hard to make the play as natural as he could but he underestimated the cunning of the man.
The man, while continuing his sex-capades, found disturbing rumors and evidence and because he had always been thinking of his beloved wife’s betrayal he soon found out the inconsistency in the timeframe.
But this all begun with he trying to bed a lady who turned out to be an old classmate, a week into his sex-rebellion. They talked and the lady innocently congratulated him on making a bent girl go straight permanently. Confused he asked the question he’d been dying to ask: “was she a lesbian?” that led to a series of information that helped him understand the situation he had unknowingly put himself and his family. But as his friend was notorious for, the discovery came late but not too late.
While the friend planned out the mode of approach for the first contact, the man had begun to call in favors to locate his beloved for he believed she had left him, until he was shown a traffic video of his wife, already gagged and tied up, being stuffed into the trunk of a car. He was advised to wait for a call that would unfailingly come, but he knew something they did not. He knew the person who drove the car, he also knew the man that was smoking in the background, and he recognized the car as that was the car that parked in his driveway the day his wife disappeared.
The man did not waste much time. His work made sure that he knew people of all walks of life in both the light and dark sides. A call was all it took for him to know all he needed to. The delivery via mail and he used the night to connect all the dots. Though he still lacked some information, he was well prepared for the imminent showdown that would begin in two weeks, when the owner of the second largest cartel in town would come knocking at his office to begin what would go down in history as the greatest battle for love.
