We-Write - Update Commenting

in hive-161155 •  3 months ago

I woke up and thought
"Let's check the notifications and upvote those who left a comment.
Positive or negative it doesn't matter.
Both can make a good comment and are worth an upvote.
Why? Because someone took the time to read and left a message behind!

From the day I joined Steemit I was told

  • read
  • comment
  • upvote

It is the only way to connect to other Steemians and promote yourself! So I did and till today I still work in the same way. The only exception why I might upvote later is because I need more SP or my vote counts heavier for the receiver if I vote if the post is 6 days old.
If I comment I upvote or I should say I upvote first and next I read. Yes, there are times when my upvote turns out to be a mistake and I do today what I never did when I started with Steemit (back then my vote was 0) I take my vote back and tell the author the reason.

We-Write

The old Steemians will surely remember this name and the hashtag. We-Write says it all. We write ourselves and not only text but also comments are part of the writing experience. If it comes to commenting the average Steemian does a bad job. I understand it's not always easy to comment (some posts or authors are dead-end if it comes to engaging) but it must be possible to write at least 2 to 3 good comments per week.
The reality is that this is not the case (I know since I am a curator in Team True Colours and always the same people are the good commenters, so sorry if you do not receive an upvote.).

I try to understand this

  • Why don't you leave a (decent) comment?
  • Why don't you upvote if you comment?
I can guess but I rather hear it from you.

Since I learned this habit from the day I started I wonder if the greeters of the #newcomers should teach the basic principles of Steemit since it feels to me that the average mentor doesn't care about commenting, upvoting, titles, and hashtags, and the same counts for hosts of contests. Is it really that hard to understand that without engagement you are on your own and no one will upvote you if Steem Curators stop with their tasks?

We-Write - Lesson 2 - Task 1

As a participant you visit 3 communities, choose the post you like to, read, and leave a comment. That was the task, that is all. In Lesson 2 we also showed the report. Here you find listed the points on which the comment is checked. One of those points is whether the commenter likes the post.

If a commenter likes the post, it is a thumbs up and we automatically trust the commenter upvoted.
This does not seem to be the case, which is something to be concerned about. Ask yourself this: If you as a reader or commenter are NOT willing to give upvotes, should someone upvote you? Do you have the right to expect an upvote?

Those who join #wewrite If you are not sure if you upvoted please check. You saved the links and this task can be done within a short time. I also ask you to answer if the author or someone on the team left a reply.
To those who believe it cannot be checked if an upvote is given: you are wrong, steemworld.org shows upvotes.

Some of you may work like me and give upvotes later, if you finished Task 1 and did not vote yet, I ask you to do it before you post Task 2 which is about writing down the experiences gained while commenting. Do not forget to add those 12 links and to mention what you liked or disliked or for example, can be improved.

To those who made me laugh with their comment: Thank you, you are awesome!
To those who still like to comment after the deadline, I say: Hurry and try to be in time with Task 2.

Happy Writing to all, comment and.. UPVOTE, make yourself visible!

I upvote comments and (good) entertaining stories. @hive-169911 is my hive (community). I will grow its SP to upvote stories only. Please, do NOT post in it!
If you wrote something good you can tag me, original (no AI-written) stories/tales only. You do not need to join a club to be read and upvoted and you can post wherever you like. I suggest the freewriters or @hive-107855 the Dream Steem. Use the tag # story

Hola @wakeupkitty

This is a good way to interact with each other and improve our skill. I hope that I could make it through.

Than just do it out of fun and see what happens dear. I hope it helps and the commenting stays alive. It doesn't look promising if you read the comments of accounts.

I wish you a good day with love.
🤗🍀♥️

Hahaha i just try and not thinking what I wrote but its from my heart but right or wrong at least I tried freewrite

A freeweite is always from the heart if you just write. The funny thing was I just wrote mine and used the same prompt. I used it to create a song 😁 and the first one I read after posting was yours. I wonder if your text works as well.

I dont understand what I wrote but i turned out funny. As if I am still longing for love hahaha
