Years ago I was at a children's party that had the theme of archeology, so it was all about fossils. The birthday boy or girl was interested in this and there were all kinds of activities to keep the children entertained. The weather was nice, so we could also get to work outside with hammer and chisel in search of the fossil that was hidden in a piece of stone (or was it some kind of plaster?). I have beautiful memories of that day and the concentrated work while sitting on the sidewalk cutting and sweeping pieces until the hidden treasure finally appeared.
The only fossil I saw after that was a mouse. The animal looked like parchment, so more like a mummy?

I would have loved to be an archaeologist! Sounds like a great party.

It was. I mainly remember how concentrated everyone was, the silence while searching for the fossil.
