Bare or barely recognized? I asked him about his shoes but he said he didn't had one. I couldn't offer him mine but I had some extra socks.
"You need them more than I do, you wear shoes.
As I walked behind him I wondered how he would ever get them clean. An hour barefeet on my balcony made me scrub and soak for hours. I hate dirty feet most of all the itchy feeling. You wouldn't see me go to bed without washing my feet first.
"It's clay," he said as if he read my thought, "it can easily be peeled of and it's healthy for the skin. You should give it a try, stay here. Nature will do you good."
Would it? I wondered in which way. It wasn't that someone waited for me back home. My dearest posessions I carried with me.
"You came here for a reason."
I looked at the man who spoke to me without facing me. I followed him although we just met but they assired me he was the best guide one could have on the journey I had planned for me.
"I'll think about it."
"You do that."
He turned around and smiled at me and I knew I had made up my mind already. I would walk barefoot with him to the moon if he wanted. No one needed me.

No one needing you is sad but this story sounds like a happy ending.
Note: walking to the moon is a lot of walking!
