Keep in touch

If you read this what pops up in your mind? Did anyone say 'keep in touch' to you or did you promise to stay in touch? It's easier said than done don't you agree? How can it be we make so many promises but rarely keep them? Small or big promises change into empty words till the moment arrives you are no longer believed.

That once friendly neighbour who offered to give her phone number knocks on your door and suddenly needs help. That same person who said later she would drive over you if you were lying dead on the road. Her opinion about you is clear, made very clear. Too many years in loneliness passed. Not once there was a sign of trust. That kind person on day number one of your arrival changed into an evil, hateful person for no other reason than you being you.

You didn't accept the daily coffee break with her, didn't feel any need to chitchat and socialize. She declared you dead and you went on with your life. There was no need to stay in touch, no good morning or good afternoon neighbour for many years. You went on with your life, working, sleeping helping out those who didn't point a finger at you and appreciate you for who you are.

Empty phrases like 'keep in touch and ' how do you do' isn't what people need but real contact, some attention or like a friend once said recognition of you being you, a person fine as s/he is. We simply aren't all birds of a feather.

I heard it each time I moved and learned that it's hard even if you are always the one who calls.
I don't think I would help such a neighbour. What a hate people spread. 🍀💖
