What do you do when you feel sick?
Feeling ill is not the same as being ill. Many are sick, everyone has a problem, but it does not mean that the world has come to a standstill because of them. The economy keeps going and is even doing better because of everyone who is ill and needs a pill or a drink. Those who are ill live a different life, especially those who are chronically ill.
Sitting (or lying) at home means killing time. You have to occupy yourself with something and a puzzle of 2000 pieces is not everyone's hobby, it requires patience. Patience again, especially for those who are chronically ill, is not a beautiful thing. Resigning yourself to what the doctor says takes a lot of energy.
Watching films and series 24/7 does not make you very happy either. Nowadays, there is little to laugh about. The average person has learned to laugh, or perhaps some people laugh less than others?
Strange how quickly the world has changed after the arrival of the Internet. We live a life online and peek at the appearances of others.
Via the Internet, everything can be seen, including what you do not want to know. If you keep some distance you can be who you are. It feels to me people easily trust a person who responds, is friendly or helpful. You can be young, old, pick your gender and profession and make up your hobbies and even pretend you are a great skater although you are 40+ years old. Those on the internet love different and extraordinary people and sick people are more than welcome even those with a sick mind.
It kills time but that is all there is to it. Those who are glued to the screen are not really living, it is often said.
I do understand this, although I don't think there are many people left who don't rush to be online, even if it's just to read the news or see if someone says something to you.
What are your plans for this week, this weekend? Planning nothing is not a bad thing, but I notice that nobody says: I'm going to surf the Internet all weekend.
