Being strong, is to be brave!!!
Hello everyone! How have you been? It's been how many days already for not posting any updates here. However, I am just visiting others posts from time to time since my day would be lacking without scrolling on #steemit. I have been so busy nowadays, but I am glad to share my vaccination update today. This happened on October 19, 2021.
Since the vaccination program has started this year, I was not planning to have it, which I thought it is for my own good. First and foremost, I am really afraid of needle, ahahaha. Funny right? I know it seems like a joke to all of you because at my age, I am still afraid of that so-called injection, but I am just having traumas long before that I almost fainted every time there's blood extraction during the annual physical exam as one of the employees requirements. It's not because that I could not bear it, but it's just every time they would try to extract me, they could not immediately do it right. I mean, it took them how many minutes to be able to extract it, like it seems they're torturing my 2 arms before they could do it, they moved the needle inside the layer of my skin, like they're searching on something inside which made it more painful to me. Like, hello,,,, I am human after all, not an object that they can do what they want without any feeling at all. Secondly, I was so hesitant because I believed some of the hearsays scattered on internet and wherever I'd go. And last, but not the least, I am afraid to the after effect of the vaccine to my body.
Fast forward, aside from the LGU's, the company which I work for right now, have it's own registration link for the vaccination program that offers the Moderna vaccine. When I was hesitant at first, this time I am also eager to receive the vaccine. I just realized one day that blood extraction is a big different from vaccine. When I was being weak because of being hurt from the extraction, vaccine is way better to boost my immune system. And I should not believe what are those hearsays without any reliable proof. Kidding aside, I trust in "Him" above. Whatever happens and whatever the circumstances it may bring, I would have to accept it. Later on, I decided to register on it and waited for the updates. It took how many months being registered before I got mine since there's a lot of employees waiting in line.
There are steps to be followed before I could finally receive the vaccine.
1 | Registration |
---|---|
2 | Screening |
3 | Doctor |
4 | Vaccine |
5 | Observation |
REGISTRATION
Upon entering the area, temperature is being checked and sanitizing hands for alcohol to be able to proceed the registration as the first step.
After the step 1, the process was just spontaneous and fast. But when I entered the step 2, which is the screening, I knew that my blood pressure would go higher and without any doubt, it really ranged to 140. I was adviced to just relax but I got more nervous. I could not control it 😆. The step 3 was being interviewed by the doctor to be able to proceed to step 4, the receiving of vaccine.
It was just a one shot away that I achieved in a day. After that, I went to step 5, the observation area along with the others who are done. We were being observed for minutes after receiving the vaccine. This is to ensure that they could seek emergency measures right away if there's a problem arises during the effect of the vaccine or if any allergies that might occur. Luckily, we were safe and well.
I am relieved that I able to pass through the 1st dose of my COVID-19 vaccine, but right after I got out of that zone, and arrived at home, I felt a bit of headache, like the feeling of tipsy from drinking alcohol 😀. I know that it was the aftermath of the vaccine shot, but I still felt nervousness what might happened next. As I was observing it after a day, it seems that my left arm was paralyzed, I could barely move because it was so painful. I just took the advice from the medical expert to just cold compress and massage it. It took 3 days before the pain has gone. Fortunately, it back to normal now.
I am already brave enough to receive my 2nd shot dose of my covid-19 vaccine sooner or later.
💉 LESSONS 💉
• This is for COVID-19 VACCINE and is being studied well with the medical practitioners, so there's nothing to worry about it because it passed through the vaccine trials before distribution. Meaning, this is effective.
• Don't just believe with the hearsays and assumptions without proper and reliable source, this can create negativity to others instead of helping them. Those are mere speculations after all.
• It does not mean that if you are vaccinated, (fully or not), you can't be infected by the virus anymore. But vaccine can at least help protect our body and to boost the immune system from severe symptoms.
• We have to be strong enough to face these challenges we encounter during this pandemic.
• Despite all the struggles with these trying times, just be part of the solution rather than creating more problem. Please let's not be selfish and be open-minded.
Let's help each other.
Let's get VACCINATED!!!
