October is almost over and we will soon be able to tick off another month. I'm not really sure which category to put it in this time, even though I always try to look on the bright side. Well, luckily there were also positive things to report, and at least a few times we managed to break out of our daily routine. But in the end, it was far too rare and far too short, even though I had made so many great plans.
Ultimately, everything was far too predictable, and if I take a closer look, there aren't really any successes or developments to report. At least not for me, where too much moves along well-worn tracks that keep me rigid and inflexible throughout the day.
Well, at least the weather showed its flexible side this month and was more varied than in the previous month. What's more, it ended up being much milder than would be appropriate for this time of year. Of course I'm also happy about sunshine and warm temperatures, but when it comes down to it, I always have the big picture in mind. And this says that we are currently in the fall and nature should slowly prepare for the coming cold season.
There will probably be a drastic drop soon and the pleasant weather will suddenly make way for wind, rain and cold. Actually, it is now time for the autumn colors, which here in Japan can glow in the most beautiful shades. But nature doesn't really want to make up its mind and the expected spectacle is either late and short, or perhaps it doesn't happen at all. Of course I don't hope for the latter, but people are already making predictions like prophets, but maybe it's better not to believe them too much.
I still have hope for a gentle transition that doesn't send us straight into a gloomy vale of tears. Here in the Far East, November is not quite as drastic as at home, at least in the first half. But by the end of the coming month at the latest, the sun will say goodbye and disappear for a longer period of time, making way for cloudy and dull skies. The coming winter can sometimes seem quite depressing, at least if you don't know how to distract yourself and cheer yourself up. Fortunately, we have always managed to do this so far and we will continue to work towards this goal this time too.
That's why I'm trying to enjoy the remaining sunny days, of which I hope there will be quite a few more. And if the temperatures do drop soon, perhaps the trees and bushes in our region will put on their colorful autumn dress after all. For my part, I wouldn't miss out on the chance to view this spectacle and would love to get out into the parks and forests again. Those are the places where I should actually be seen much more often these days.
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we all get a few more opportunities to get out and enjoy ourselves. That is why, my dear autumn, it's now up to you to enchant us all once again...
A beautiful scene and time of year
