My traveling part 17 🇲🇾 : Genting Highland, Land Above the Clouds

Hello stemian friends, on this occasion I will invite you all to follow my adventure to Genting Highland.

Genting highland is one of the land above the clouds, this place is at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level. I heard from many people that this is a land above the clouds, how interesting is the land above the clouds, let's follow my journey.

My adventure to Genting Highland started after visiting Batu Caves. We booked a taxi online for about 45 Malaysian Ringgit to get there. The journey there took 44 minutes.

Along the way, the road was very smooth and climbed up to the highland. Thick fog shrouded the journey as Genting Highland is located in a mountainous area.

Arriving there, my wife and I entered a mall, from this place we could then buy Gondola or Awana Skyway tickets for 19 Malaysian Ringgit per person for a round trip ticket or around 30 Steem,(calculated based on the steem price on Thursday March 6, 2025). Gondola is one of the transportation to get to the land above the clouds, the highest peak of Genting Highland.

Ticket purchase can also be done quite easily at the ticket kiosk, the kiosk already uses advanced touch screen technology and can accept payments using contactles debit cards.

Initially, I thought the Skyway would take us down from the highlands to the lowlands. As it turned out, the Skyway took us to an even higher peak, to the top of the land above the clouds. There are quite a lot of Gondolas available here so we don't have to worry or wait for a queue even though there are a lot of people coming.

When we first boarded the Skyway, my wife and I were scared at first. Are the ropes at the top really strong and able to withstand the load. But the feeling of fear began to disappear after our attention was drawn to the natural scenery around it.

From the top of the Skyway, we enjoyed an amazingly beautiful view of Malaysia. Lush green nature lay all around us, and the clouds seemed to be under our feet.

We arrived at the highest peak of the Awana Skyway and were immediately amazed by what we noticed around here. The view of the city with its high-rise buildings, apartments, and entertainment venues was simply amazing, it was all here. I thought it was absolutely crazy how they could build a city above the clouds like this. This trip was truly the most memorable experience, as if we were entering a fairy tale come to life.

Upon arrival at one of the Awana Skyway stations, we were greeted by the splendor of SkyAvenue, the largest mall in Genting Highlands. The mall consists of four floors filled with amusement rides, luxury shops and delicious restaurants. We spent hours exploring every corner of the mall, marveling at the modern architecture and elegant interior design.

One of the things that caught our attention the most was the largest casino. In front of the casino, there is a giant snake statue that looks majestic and mysterious. I was tempted to go inside the casino, but I decided against it because of the creepy-looking casino guards and I didn't want to leave my wife alone.

After wandering around the mall, we boarded the Awana Skyway back to the starting station. This return trip gave us the opportunity to take in the sights of Genting Highlands for a second time.

Upon arrival at the starting station, we booked a taxi online to return to Kuala Lumpur. Along the way, I reflected on our experience at Genting Highlands. This place is truly amazing, with its unique and interesting "land above the clouds" concept. I felt like I was in a fairytale land that I had seen in movies.

Genting Highlands is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a different and unforgettable vacation experience. I highly recommend this place to be visited by everyone vacationing in Malaysia.
