Ainabaji is a Bangladeshi crime thriller film released in 2016. The film is directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury and produced by Content Matters Limited. The story and screenplay were written by Gausul Alam Shaon and Anam Biswas. The film stars Chanchal Chowdhury, Masuma Rahman Nabila and Perth Barua in the lead roles. The story of the film progresses in the shadow of the criminal world with the love-joy-pain of the life of prisoner Aina (Chanchal), his girlfriend Hridi (Nabila) and crime reporter Saber (Perth) instead of the jailed convicts.
The film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival's Marche du Film section on 16 May 2016. [3] It was later released in Bangladesh on 30 September. The film had four screenings at the Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival on November 12-15. [4] The film was acclaimed by both audiences and critics. At the 19th Merrill-Prothom-alo Awards, the film was nominated for awards in six categories, including Best Picture, and won awards in three categories. The film also won Best Picture at the Seattle South Asian Film Festival and Best Picture at the 18th Tele Cine Awards.
On April 4, 2016, the 'National Film Awards 2017' was announced, with the film winning six awards.
