Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 9 Week 6: My Trip, My Adventure

in hive-163291 •  2 years ago

Traveling by land is usually fun for me because, whenever I am embarking on a land trip, I get to see a lot of things alone on the road. As of January 13, 2023, after I had visited and spent quality time with my loved ones at home, I decided to take a trip back to Abakaliki, where I was initially based before I relocated to Abuja.

Very early in the morning, after I had finished arranging my luggage, I took them to the nearest bus stop directly opposite a military base and entered a commercial vehicle to a place called mbok junction.

As I arrived at the mbok junction, I waited for the vehicle to get some passengers, which is the norm here in Nigeria, where you will see commercial drivers carrying more than the required number of passengers. Well, I humbly waited for other passengers to arrive, which the driver was lucky enough to have.

After getting the required numbers of passengers, the driver then put in all the luggage, where myself and other passengers entered the vehicle and began heading to Abakaliki.

As the driver was driving myself and other passengers to Abakaliki, immigration officers stopped us at the checkpoint. A search warrant was carried out on our vehicle to identify a passenger who is a non-Nigerian (foreigner).

Well, the search warrant was going on, and two passengers were then identified as Cameroonian after lying to the immigration officers. After fetching out two Cameroonian who were unable to show their identity, they were then punished by the immigration officers, and I felt so pity for them.

Well, after spending some minutes at the immigration checkpoint, all the passengers, including myself, entered the vehicle and began heading to our destination, where I arrived very late.

Lesson Learn

I learned how to always travel with my national identity card (ID) and to always be truthful when dealing with passengers and security agencies on the highway.

I am inviting: @yakspeace, @goodybest and @ruthjoe.

I have previously shared the pictures used in this post under my post title. my journey back to Abakaliki

This post is incredibly informative! It provides a wealth of valuable information and insights on the topic at hand. I appreciate the author's efforts in presenting the information in a clear and concise manner making it easy to understand and follow along.

after I read your post, how about the Cameroonian next? Do they enter Nigeria without having an identity card?

Driving with only one passenger causes a lot of losses for drivers. So every driver wants to leave with enough passengers. Here many passengers misbehave with the drivers to make us wait. You are not among them. you are patient You waited for some time thinking about your driver. Tea is definitely a good quality. You are a great person. Good luck to you.

Yes you're right which is the reason why a lot of drivers hate it. Thank you for stopping by.

Saludos amigo @josepha, un viaje que comenzaste muy temprano y realizad en un vehículo comercial; casualmente esos viajes asi se suelen disfrutar y en compañía de amigos mas. Saludos y éxito en tu entrada!

Sorry to know for that bad situation you had to manage in that moment because the importance of holding an ID card, but this is sounding like an issued trip instead of adventure and besides most photographies are showing yourself plus people, what about places?
