Club100 - Historical Timurciler Mansion 🏛🏠

Today I will talk to you about the Historical Timuciler Mansion, which attracted the most visitors of the region when I visited the Orta Mahallein the past months.

Orta Mahalle is famous for its historical mansions. Today, the locals still live in these mansions. Timurciler mansion was purchased by the municipality and opened to visitors in order to better promote the region. In other words, we can say that the Timuricler mansion has been opened to the public representing many historical houses in the region. While the inside of this historical house is open to visitors, the garden also serves as a cafe. After visiting this house, you can sip your delicious Turkish coffee with the unique view of Orta Mahalle.

The architecture of this mansion is a little different from today's houses. It mostly bears the characteristics of Ottoman architecture. Especially the interior design is quite different from today. According to the sign at the entrance of the building, this mansion belongs to Yaşar Timurcuğaluna, one of the most well-known tradesmen of Akçaabat. The family lived here for 3 generations. In 2010, the mansion was purchased by Akçaabat Municipality and restored and opened to the public in 2013.

Especially the seats and cushions made me feel like I was in an old Turkish movie, but the design was simple and I liked this simplicity. There was not much stuff in the mansion anyway. But there were too many pitchers in a way I didn't understand. These pitchers must have been very important in the past. Today, of course, these pitchers are not very important. I even looked in the dictionary to use the English word for pitcher. I think this is the first time I use the word pitcher in English in a sentence lol. As you can see below, these pitchers were displayed in various parts of the house.

Since there are many more places to visit in Orta Mahalle, we ended our visit here and continued to explore the area. But there is no doubt that this is one of the first places that everyone who comes to Orta Mahalle should see.
