A few days ago, I went to the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The three districts of Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh are Rangamati Bandarban and Khagrachari. Different tribes live in these districts. They have been living here since the creation of Bangladesh. The standard of living of the tribal groups living in the hilly areas is very difficult. Today I will try to highlight the quality of life of the tribal group 'Bom' girls.

The indigenous groups Chakma Burma and Santal are the head girls of their families. Girls bear all the responsibilities in the family. Bamra is slightly behind them. They live far away on the top of the hill. When you go there, you can understand how difficult their life is. Their main source of income is jum cultivation. The girls also earn a living by making chadars and mountain wear of various designs. Most of the 'bom' girls do shoplifting.

Bom girls are selling their handmade items through the shop. Tourists from different parts of Bangladesh flock there. Livelihood depends a lot on these tourists. Tourists are more willing to buy their handmade items. It was good for me to see them. .

We went to different shops and saw their handmade items. We will buy what we like. You can see a bom girl standing next to the shop. She teaches in a school in Dhaka. As all the educational institutions of the country are closed due to the corona virus infection, he is running the shop at home. I came to know from him that his mother makes these sheets and various kinds of things herself. Decided to go from his shop to another shop.

I started choosing chadar in a shop next to him. Much better quality than the sheets we buy from the city. Hand-made things are already very strong. Since they are made by hand, the price is a little higher. We kept haggling with them. Eventually the girl agreed to our price. There were seven of us and each of us took two sheets. The girl was very happy because of taking so many sheets.

Some girls were collecting mountain vegetables from the hilly areas and selling them in the market. Different types of vegetables and bamboo shoots and mountain bananas. I ate mountain bananas very tasty. Banana size is very small but very tasty. Most of the market food was tribal food. I have understood many things by seeing their livelihood. They have to work harder than us to survive. I gained a lot of experience from the trip. I am sharing with you.
