Hello dear Members,
Assalamu Alaikum to all. Hope everyone is doing well by God's grace. I am also fine by the grace of God Alhamdulillah. I am farhana aysha steemit username: ayshafarhana. Today I will write about the vegetables of my garden. I have a small roof garden covering a part of this gourd loft. The leaves of this plant are green in color and have an incomparable taste as a vegetable. Both the leaves and fruits of this plant are delicious.

★ White flowers are on the gourd vine. Types of flowers are male and female. The female flower is pollinated and becomes the gourd or fruit which is a delicious vegetable that we all eat. Not only the fruit but also the leaves of this plant are eaten as a vegetable. Various recipes are prepared by collecting the large green leaves (Laushak) of this creeping plant. Not just the fruit or the leaves, this fruit is also delicious as a filling or bhaji.

★ Different types of gourds are grown and even gourds are of different colors and shapes. This creeping plant is mainly cultivated for its fruit, raw as a vegetable and ripe fruit has been used as a container since ancient times. Its English name is Bottle Gourd because the dry shell of the ripe fruit is used as a bottle. Generally, young gourds are light green or whitish in color and the inside is white in color. Gourds originated in Africa and are considered to be the oldest cultivated vegetable in the world.

★ Ripe fruits contain mature seeds which are used for further propagation.
Gourd seeds are delayed in the development of seedlings. The popular method is tissue culture, after the seeds have germinated. Seedlings are produced by sowing seeds in small polybags or seedbeds, and these seedlings are directly planted in the garden for cultivation.
