Lots going on with steemit in recent days, got bought by some new guy, new witnesses (his), old head honchos leaving, new head honchos will replace them, some people seem pissed... there's a bunch of voting going on.

I have this to say...quoting Al Swearengen from Deadwood-
"how does that impinge on men like us?" (or women)

All I know as a content maker is that this site is a hell of a lot more functional than it was three weeks ago...our days of no censorship or algorithms may be numbered, but such things haven't started yet. These guys who resigned...I have no idea what they were doing but I can tell you what they were not doing...and that was making this site functional for a normal human being. It took this @justinsunsteemit guy three weeks to make more improvement than I've seen in two years here.

I have delegated all my voting to @steevc as he has more knowledge than I on the matter, and has the best interest of steemit in mind, far more than I. I am here to promote my work...period. Not to have it wither on the vine of an unusable crypto jerk off fest. If it was in my hands, I'd give all my votes to Justin, because whatever nefarious crooked shit he's up to...he's actually fixing the fucking site.

For example...the communities thing is finally up and running.

As I type this, this here comic books community is in the top 40 of all communities. That seems to be determined by how many people post and comment, and are signed up and the pending rewards. New people WILL be coming here. The higher up this community is on that list of communities, that new people glance over, the better! All the better for steemit, so that people can actually find entertaining things related to a normal internet person's interests, and all the better for us who hope to get new fans of our work.

We might not see a lot of whales, but these new people are going to be internet savvy and know how to use patreon, and kickstarter, and spread the word in general, and/or buy work directly...and for all we know, new whales may be coming. This new guy Justin ...he's clearly not the type to come to a party alone.

So post often, comment often, reply often...you know...support each other, like we do here on steemit.

Now then, before I left for the Chicago comic con, I started a contest/raffle. Everyone who posted was entered to win this sketch of an upcoming cover....

Started working on the cover and got pretty far before I had to stop for the comic con. But here's the progress so far...THEN I SHALL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER...

First the pencils ( the photos here are not great, but I have a patreon page in case you wanna chip in and I'll get a better camera, or at least another light https://www.patreon.com/douglaspasz )

let's get a look at that toaster and blend , eh? I put a bit of work into the perspective on those...

and onto some stages of inking...

VDJIMRCVR7.jpg

Now, then...I will admit to being juvenile here and hiding some boobs...seeing as how we still have no censorship here, I might as well show 'em off now!

VDJIMRCVRBOOBS1.jpg

Is there a world's record for the smallest inked pair of boobs? Here's a pic nest to a needle to show scale...

VDJIMRCVRBOOBS2.jpg

but let's not gloss over that toaster and blender...

VDJIMRCVRTOASTER.jpg

VDJIMRCVRBLENDER.jpg

overall, it turned out ...pretty okay so far...

MIght be a spell before I get to finish this one, got a hard deadline to deal with.

NOW THEM...THIS WINNER OF THE FIRST CONTEST OF THIS HERE GROUP IS....( reaching blindly into the shuffled pieces of paper with the names)

@northwestnomad

...northwestnomad? He only posted on picture...and it was old.

Congrats to @northwestnomad. Those are the tiniest boobs!

You missed a T in contest in the title and got my user name a little wrong, but no big deal.

I have mixed feelings about Justin. The development for communities was done before he got involved, but I guess he pushed the team to get it out of beta. I hope this community prospers.

Fixed, thanks! I was in a hurry when typing. Justin has made progress so far, and that's all I'm judging him by- what he actually does and how it affects things. All I can do is hope for the best for steemit under his control

I'm fully against Justin now. It's true the communities you see on Steemit were on beta.steemit for months prior to his acquisition. He simply forced the team to push it live ASAP for the PR. Admittedly, the team's approach may have been more cautious than it should have been, but Sun took full credit for making communities happen and that was BS. The real man behind communities was @roadscape, who has now resigned along with the majority of the Steemit development team. There are clearly features missing that were discussed and were most likely in the works in anticipation of a planned live launch, but I don't think we'll see upgrades anytime soon, due to the new owners showing no signs of understanding/competency with the Steem structure & code. Justin's team is already promising to deliver immediate hard forks that would all but break the chain. I don't think they understand the 7 day payout calculation window when they plan on making Steem able to be powered down in 3 days or less.🙄 Sure, I guess we could ignore the exploit of being able to vote three times with the same stake by shuffling between accounts... but my guess is major glitches will ensue that will cause the blockchain to freeze, and Tron won’t have the know how to fix it.

In short, all the seeming progress Justin has made occurred before he arrived, and the only progress that has occurred since is the mass resignations of all the people who made that progress.

Sorry for the Steem politics rant! Glad the community is growing well regardless.

NP, I enjoy a good rant!
@ned is the one who sold this, so anyone pissed off has him to blame, and
Anyone who left or got fired has ned to blame, not Justin. Justin bought something and can do whatever he wants with it.

The bottom line here for content providers is this- jack shit was getting done for the almost THREE FUCKING YEARS I've been here. Very simple tweeks that have made this thing much more user friendly got implemented within two weeks of the new ownership. if these tweeks were in the making...well then they should have fucking implemented them, shouldn't they have? CLEARLY the tweeks were ready because CLEARLY they are working. So if Justin wants to take credit...by the literal meaning of the word he IS in fact responsible.

Notifications...THREE FUCKING YEARS I WAITED FOR THAT. The search engine options to not be a bunch of redundant terms ( trending, hot, ect) and the search engine to be functional for a normal human.. THREE FUCKING YEARS I WAITED
I can go to the search page and simply click "my friends" ....IT TOOK THREE FUCKING YEARS FOR THAT SIMPLE TWEEK? no actually it took two weeks, under Justin.

They were jerking off and dicking around with every fucking thing EXCEPT the things that would help content makers.

THIS platform and by proxy all these developers gave creators the finger over and over and over and over....they treated us like we did not matter/where irrelevant and showed that with every hardfork and every "improvement" which actually made things worse for us.

there is a new guy in charge, and for my purposes things are better, and for all the dumb assholes still out there confused as to how steem/steemit can grow...it is about the content dumbass. and therefor the content makers...and therefor making things easier for them/us makes things better for steemit

so fuck @ned I'm glad he is gone.

...I can't help but notice here that this post has 0.00 listed, despite the voting and my notifications saying it should be otherwise. a glitch perhaps?

Oh I see where the discrepancy is @berniesanders and his little bots down voted me for having an opinion. This is a guy who has complained about every single hardfork the witnesses voted for since I've been here...who now wants us to vote for those same witnesses LOL.
Hey, goofball, you CAN'T BEAT JUSTIN. It can't be done, hes got 40%. Even IF you got ...every... single... person here to vote in unison it would not be enough, because of the mass of voting power that just doesn't bother to come here anymore. @ned wrecked the place, then sold it.
On the upside, it actually functions now for normal human beings.

The Steem blockchain is currently being attacked by a central authority in order to take control of the witnesses. If you are not managing your witness votes, please consider setting @berniesanders as your witness voting proxy by clicking here to help restore the decentralization of Steem.

How about you read the fucking post you are commenting on your cunt bot. You haven't fixed jack shit since I've been here, wtf should I vote for you?

Your cover is coming along nicely! Looking at the perspective guide lines on the blender is making my head hurt lol. The boobs kinda remind me of the original D&D monster manual, there was a similar topless drawing in it
