Coral fungus, commonly called as 'crown coral' or crown-tipped coral fungus. Scientific name is: Artomyces pyxidatus. This summer I found it for the first time ever, and was very happy about that. There was an old rotting trunk, spotted with several colonies of crown coral on it. I pried myself a small piece of rotten wood, and planted it in its place, near the summer house - there is a (small) hope that the mycelium will sprout in a new place. Let's see, maybe I will have my own colony of this fungus!
Этим летом я впервые нашел этот необычный гриб, чему очень обрадовался. Это был большой гниющий ствол, на котором было несколько колоний разного размера и зрелости. Я отковырнул себе небольшой кусочек трухлявой древесины, и посадил возле летнего домика - есть (небольшая) надежда, что мицелий прорастет на новом месте. Посмотрим, может быть у меня будет своя колония этого гриба!
