Steem greetings @everyone and welcome to my blog as I present my 37th report as the Steem Representative. It is yet another week for me to report on my activities on the platform for the week of 8th-15th January 2025.
It was another week of work with heads high while trying to scale a balance between offline commitments and business as usual on Steemit. This still was not without some challenges with frequent unannounced blackouts and low voltage which caused my internet connection tobe unstable as usual.
That said, below I will share my different activities carried out across the platform within the above-stated period.
Community Curator for January |
---|
It was the second week of active activities as community curator for January. We worked together as a team to ensure we reached out to as many users as possible.
I was in charge of preparing a Google sheet for each of us to input data to be used for our weekly reports. I participated in selecting the best-nominated posts of the week for the report and I also wrote the report.
For this week, I had 03 days of performing my duties as a curator. I supported 75 articles from different authors across the platform from different countries. I equally supported comments that added value to the content.
It was an easy ride without any major challenge searching across blogs and communities to support genuine authors.
Steemit Promotion. |
---|
It is a major challenge for me to sign up new users on the platform. With the present economic hardship in my country, it is difficult to get passionate bloggers without having a “… get rich quick” mindset. However, I continued preaching the steemit gospel to those who showed interest in giving me a listening ear. I had a face-to-face discussion with 07 persons but none showed interest in creating an account.
As usual, Facebook is one of the platforms I used to promote Steemit because I have over 2.8k followers but unfortunately, there are lots of scammers on Facebook. It makes it difficult to gain the trust of my Facebook followers to sign up because they believe anything that has to do with cryptocurrency is fake. Most of them I approached were once victims of cryptocurrency scams on Facebook.
I equally used my WhatsApp status to promote Steemit to my contacts.
Activities in Steem Cameroon Community. |
---|
It is a routine that every week we meet online and discuss how to better manage the community. As per our last meeting, we still seeking ways to bring in new admins and mods since the community keys that were used to add admins were missing because @saxopedia saved them in his laptop and thieve-broked into their house some years back and went away with the laptop. We are still seeking assistance on how to change admins and mods and bring in a more active and committed management team.
I continued chats with @nforyembe, @peacemakers, @muluhpenn and @tjean to adhere to the promises they made last meeting with them to be back active. They keep promising to be back active but I’m still to see that happen.
As a plagiarism leader and actively fighting all forms of abuse in the community, I had to ensure that content creators create quality content free from any form of abuse in the community. For this week, 01 user was cautioned on using copyrighted images and also using images without properly sourcing them. We hope steemians continues to be creative in ideas and create plagiarized free content and proper use of non-copyrighted images.
I also caution steemians especially newcomers about clicking on phishing links and operating 3rd party DApps. This is because they risk losing their Steemit accounts to hackers. I also informed them about “account recovery” within 30 days if not they stand to lose the account to hackers.
I assisted 02 users via Discord to apply simple markdown on their articles and also advised them to take on the achievement program in the newcomer's community to better familiarise themselves with the use of a simple markdown style. I also advised them to use Grammarly to correct their language and proofread before posting.
Content Creation. |
---|
It was a busy week with other offline commitments but I had to stay active and created 6 articles including my weekly report.
I equally engaged with other Steemit users by commenting and giving feedback.
I equally did power up some liquid Steem to increase my Steem power to support other creative authors on the platform.

It was another opportunity for me to use my effective Steem power of over 60k to support steemians with quality content on the platform.

Preference was given to authors writing creative and quality articles across the platform. Over the week, I reached out to 81 accounts and upvoted 111 posts with a CSI score of 14.2.
At this juncture, I have come to the end of my presentation of my weekly activities report.
