Greetings everyone
Welcome to my first report as a country representative from Nigeria for August. In this report, I will give a detailed report of my activities and engagements here on Steemit over the past 7days and I will try as much as possible to section it for proper understanding.
My Activities Over the Past Week
The activities over the past week cover the following:
- Admin Steem4nigeria community and Curation.
- Crypto Academy Contest Review.
- Onboarding new members and mentoring them to get started.
- Reviewing and keeping tabs on #nigeria tags and filtering plagiarised/farming accounts.
- Technical Review of the Steem Market.
Activities As Admin Steem4nigeria
My major activities currently on Steemit are promoting and tracking the activities of Nigerians on Steemit. As the CR, I try as much as possible to follow the #nigerian tag and support users using the @steem4nigeria official account and also my personal. Aside from curation activities, I also review the articles and check for plagiarised and farming accounts. Suspected accounts are being investigated using the right measures.
Also, we are planning to come up with a strict verification step for the new members to curb the increased rate of farming accounts on Steemit. Current members of the community are undergoing verification and given a label in the community.
As the curator of the @steem4nigeria community, the community account is focused on supporting Nigerians' writing both in the community and outside the community. We always encourage our users to include the country tag in their publications. Only then can the CRs monitor their activities and support their publications.
We have community moderators who review articles published in the community before curation. Nevertheless, I still ensure that I check out for plagiarism and the club status of users before curation.
The community account currently holds 21,278 effective Steem Power. In the last 7 days, 154 upvotes were given to 78 verified Nigerian users. We look forward to supporting more users and improving the voting CSI of the community account.
Engagement Activities
In the past week, I have engaged with new users who are confused about the platform. My contact details were sent to them and I tried my best to educate the users and give them a safe landing on the platform. To further achieve the goal of mentoring newbies, a telegram group has been created a few hours ago for new Nigerian users for orientation and also to support them in interacting with the platform.
To further assists the new users, I have discussed with my colleague @ngoenyi on a plan to delegate Steem power to the newbies so they can be able to have enough resources to interact on the platform.
Some guidelines will be followed to achieve this and the progress of new users will be monitored. Our goal is to enable new users to adopt faster on the platform and also educate them on the rules that govern the Steemit platform.
Future Development
In collaboration with my colleagues, we will ensure that there's stability and coordination in the activities of Nigerians on Steemit. We will be looking forward to achieving the following:
- Promote Steemit in Nigeria and Create Awareness to onboard new users.
- Build a newcomers community social media account for Nigerian users and Delegate to support them.
- Create an active contest for engagement and promotional activities that will aid the development of the community.
- Give a detailed report of the Activities of Steem4nigeria.
- Generate a detailed report on all the verified members of the Steem4nigeria community. This information will be updated weekly and new users will be added.
Conclusion
These are my activities over the past week. I mostly engaged in the Steem4nigeria community. Though I have contributed to the growth of the platform via my blog by posting my daily activities and also reviewing the Steem market. I have also engaged in the crypto academy as a professor where I review contest posts for the Steemit Engagement challenge. In the coming week, I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to achieve our objectives as CRs of Nigeria.
