The movie Hippopotamus had a pretty rough start with development… Everything started back in 2015 when Edward A. Palmer has finished the short-movie with the same name… It has some nice reviews and made him think of doing his first full-length movie based on the short one… And he did it… But, the movie was announced back in 2017, but its premiere was re-scheduled a couple of times… and they finally decided to do it on March 27, in all this Coronavirus mess… However, the critics aren’t so bad, as a matter of fact, they are great, but the timing is really bad…
The story follows Ruby, who wakes up from a bad dream into even worse reality… She is locked in the basement, with broken knees and can’t remember anything… How she got there? Who she is? Her kidnapper Tom is telling her about her past, but she has her doubts and tries to escape...
The movie is written and directed by Edward A. Palmer, and this is his first full-length movie after doing 2 short ones, Heather (2013) and the short-movie Hippopotamus (2015), which was "testing the water" for the full-length movie.
In the main roles are Ingvild Deila (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), This Is Not Happening (2014)), Stuart Mortimer (The Subject (2017), Curtain (2013)), Tom Lincoln (Nation Down (2017), Charismata (2017), Lexicon (2015)), Jonathan Cobb (Andy's Rainbow (2016), Grindsploitation 4: Meltsploitation (2018)).
