C stands for crustacean.

I have always loved watching soldier crabs move along the beach in large groups sifting through the sand. This beautiful black crab with banded legs is different from those silver gray soldier crabs of my childhood, but no less interesting. It didn’t seem to be part of a large group and was quite unafraid of me and my camera. It was also roughly the size of a fifty cent piece here in Australia, so quite small.

I hope wherever you are in the world you can take a moment to appreciate the beautiful creatures we share this world with.

This is my entry to the CONTEST: C stands for - 4.24

We don't have them here. The size of a fifty cent piece is small indeed. I guess all crabs start small or?

How is Australia?

I think it depends on the species I have no idea how big this guy will get.
Australia is good. Wet at the moment and muggy with summer.

Isn't animal life bigger in Australia than Europe?

How cute your crab. Here we have another color of crabs but just as cute.

Nice post and it is a very dark looking crab, we can buy a kilo of crabs at the supermarket and we can cook it, put coconut milk and it is going to taste so delicious. I also know how to cook crabs, they have a black color when when are not yet cooked, but they become red when they are cooked already, they are drlicious food guys.
