My favourite mobile phone

Phones.

Lately I wrote Tech... and about the phones in my life.
I was never really fond of making phone calls and the phone at home was meant for the patients of my mother. Next to these patients mainly phone calls were made to my mothers mother and younger sister. These calls were always started by some misery that came over my mother in most cases caused by us children.

Seldom a phone call was made to a friend or a friend dared to call us. I don't think school/teachers ever called.

My first phone arrived as I moved to the city.

It was around 1985/1986.

The first mobile phone was a Motorola and came years later. I cannot remember it caused me any problems. The line was clear, the phone just way bigger as what we use these days. It wasn't one you easily put in your pocket.

My next phone was a Samsung.
It was meant for calling only and I bought two.
One had my private number and the other one the number of the business I ran.
I still have both phones and they are used as an alarm clock now.
The great thing about these phones is the battery lasts long.

Times changed and the phones changed.
I already gave up on my phone (landline) earlier mainly because I seldom made a phone call and the monthly fee for having one was already 30-40 euro's and I had to pay for calling extra. Since I do not even call for 10 euro a year this was a totally waste of money.

Dragging two phones around with me wasn't always easy.
After some years I looked for a sim duo phone.
They were expensive at that time and only three had that option.
The Samsung Duos had the best reviews. This phone was the easiest of those three if it came to activating the sim cards.

Another Samsung came into my life.

With this phone you can surf on the internet, read your e-mail, text, call and make photo's.
I believe only once I figured out how connecting to the internet worked. I gave up on it. I mainly used it for texting, being called and making photos.

We still use it for calling in case of emergencies. The battery is getting weak after all these years.

The first modern smartphone.

I bought one for me and my daughter four years ago mainly to stay in touch via Whatsapp. Again it was a Samsung. Main reason: The T-mobile shop didn't sell much other brands and so far I had good experiences with the brand.

My phone was a disaster. It was quickly broke. I somehow had a bad feeling as I bought it because the box it was in was not sealed and my daughter hers was. She still has her's.

I had to buy a new one.
Not only for staying in touch with her daily but also because two laptops were broke after over 8 years. The smartphone became my only way to be on the internet and without a device I was not able to do my administration, banking, taxes, etc etc. The Dutch government, insurances, the doctor, road services and making an appointment to get your car fixed are all done online and you need to install an app for everything.

By now my daughter has a problem because her Samsung has a lack of memory. She can not and install all the apps asked.
It is annoying how many apps one need to install to live in the western world. I wish I could do without it. My phone has a lack of memory too although I have a mini card.

Is Samsung my favourite brand?

No. After this phone I search for something better. My present Samsung A10 has issues too already in the first weeks. No matter it's price Samsung is getting cheaper and for less money I can get a better phone.
Asus for example. I hope if the time is near I have time to search for a better one and do not need to buy what is left in the shop in a hurry.

I am using Samsung but it's not my favorite

Same here. Do you have a favorite brand? 💕

Posted using Partiko Android

Yes my favorite is HTC

Thank you for voting and sharing. Is there a specific reason you like this brand most?

Because I like android operating system also and both HTC and Android is owned by Google
I think its better if your device manufacturer and software developer is same

To be honest I am tired of google being installed on each brand these days. I hardly use it and it takes a lot of the mrmory plus the updates are daily, never ending. My phone has a memory lack now too. This means I am forced to buy each year a new, faster, one with more memory for hundreds of euros. That annoys me. Happy weekend. 💕

You can deactivate auto updates if you don't have enough memory

I think Android have large user base and Apps in store then iOS

Butt what you use what are the solution you find ?

You can not deactivate google anylonger they keep uodating even if you switched that option off. The problem is you have less options and apple is more expensive..

I never heard of that brand. There's a lot on the market we can not buy. I keep it in mind who knows I see it one day. 💕

Thank you so much. 😁💕

Do I need to say "I am bored" first?

Has tenido muchos teléfonos samsung.

Here I can pay for my son's college semester with what an advanced technology phone costs. @wakeupkitty.

Ooo.. I am not so much of a Samsung fan or any android phone. I find that the phone is always downloading and installing something that I have no idea what they are. My mom had a Samsung once and the phone is always giving a storage space warning. It was really frustrating to always try to figure out what is chewing up the storage space :D

@marblely the phone indeed lives it's own life but it's mainly google and you need to.switch the same things off at 3 different places.
My daughter has a storage lack too. She says it's because of the uodates. To save storage it's the best to remove the app(s) and install.them new.
