Hughes Reviews: Ultra Quick Thoughts on 'The Crow' (2024) - Bill Skarsgård, FKA twigs, Danny Huston

It's been a while since I posted here on Steem. My computer crashed, and my keys were on it, leaving me unable to log in. Long story short, I was able to have a friend of mine extract the keys off the old hard drive after buying a new computer yesterday, and here we are.

Being away allowed me to take a break from social media, which I found refreshing—it was similar to a digital enema. This is why I want to start with this particular movie review as my first post. I found and watched this movie a few weeks back after not being sure whether it was a reboot or a sequel. I can now rightfully say I wish I had never found 2024's 'The Crow' in the first place.

Some movies should never be made; in this case, some movies should not have been remade, rebooted, or whatever happened here. This was seriously a waste of film in the can as it does not pick up enough of the story to be relevant but uses the same character names from a movie that quite honestly was perfectly fine without a reboot. 1994's 'The Crow' was Brandon Lee's coming out party as an actor and tragic ending point as a living person. The movie has always had a special place in my watching cabinet and also features another acting gem in Ernie Hudson.

While I forced myself to watch this flaming piece of dog excrement (2024's 'The Crow'), I would not advise anyone else to give it the light of day unless you're deathly bored, can get it for completely free, and literally have nothing else to watch. Otherwise, save yourself from this waste of time that I wish would have never popped up in my suggestions.

The video below goes over everything from the 1994 movie.

It is good to see you back! I checked and nothing and nothing again so I wondered. Also, great to read a film review in this community.

@netflixr aren't you the one who is deathly bored at times? Will you watch it, give your stamp maybe or forget about it?

It keeps surprising me how much money is wasted on these movies. I assume you were bored as you watched this one as well or did you skip parts?

I watched a bit of this movie out of morbid curiosity even though I was aware of the horrible impressions that it had left with almost everyone that has seen it. It is as bad as he says and I can say this after only making it 20 minutes or so into it.

Glad you made it back buddy! I suffered through about 20 minutes of the Crow 2024 and then turned it off. Since the 1994 (i think that was the year) original was such a surprise hit, I was upset that they decided to do this. I was more upset that they used it as a stage for social issues and basically completely ignored the source material. How do you completely screw up a beloved cult hit this bad? Well, they managed it. This film is truly trash.
